Spain topped Group H with seven points from a possible nine (W2, D1), creating a slice of history in the process by completing a World Cup group stage without conceding a single goal. Even so, it still feels like we haven’t seen the best of La Roja yet.
They arrive in the knockout rounds on a thirteen‑match unbeaten run (W9, D4), though they have lost their last two World Cup knockout games since lifting the trophy in 2010. The good news for Spain is they’ve never suffered three consecutive knockout defeats at the tournament.
Remove penalty‑shootout losses from the equation and Spain are on a remarkable 34‑game unbeaten run, just one shy of their national record of 35. They’re also five games unbeaten against Austria (W4, D1), although the sides haven’t met since 2009. William Hill make La Roja the 1/3 odds‑on favourites to win inside 90 minutes.

Austria left it late on matchday three, with a dramatic 96th‑minute equaliser sealing a 3-3 draw against Algeria and securing Das Team a place in a World Cup knockout phase for the first time since 1954 — an incredible achievement in itself.
They’ve also been waiting a very long time to beat Spain. You have to go back to March 1990 for the last time Austria got the better of La Roja, and this will be another huge ask, especially given they haven’t kept a World Cup clean sheet since 1982.
Only three of Austria’s last nine fixtures have produced three or more goals, and while this is undoubtedly a big challenge, we’ve already seen plenty of shocks at this World Cup. Significant Conditions

The promotion runs from 08:00 (UK time) on Thursday 7th August 2025 until otherwise cancelled by us in accordance with these Terms (the “Promotion Period”).
This Acca Boost promotion is available to both online customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland using the William Hill website (williamhill.com – the “Website”) or William Hill iOS or Android Mobile app (together, the “Apps”) and UK retail customers in William Hill shops.
To qualify, place a Qualifying Acca on a Sports Betting Terminal or over the counter on Smart Hub SSBT in William Hill shops, or online via the Website or the App, during the Promotion Period.
A “Qualifying Acca” is:
1. A cash stake of any value (no minimum stake);
2. On any football acca made of 4 or more selections;
3. Each with odds of 1/5 (1.2) or bigger;
4. On the Promotion Markets.
The “Promotion Markets” are:
1. 90 Minutes;
2. 90 Minutes 2 Up;
3. Both Teams To Score;
4. Match Under/Over Goals.
No opt in required. If the requirements of a Qualifying Acca are met, the promotion will be applied automatically. If any acca contains any selection with odds of less than 1/5 (1.2), it will not be a Qualifying Acca.
Qualifying Acca wins (less the value of the original stake) will receive an “Acca Boost”, whereby winnings will be boosted by a variable percentage, dependent on the number of selections in the Qualifying Acca:
1. 4 selections – 5% Acca Boost
2. 5 selections – 7.5% Acca Boost
3. 6 selections – 10% Acca Boost
4. 7 selections – 15% Acca Boost
5. 8 selections – 20% Acca Boost
6. 9 selections – 25% Acca Boost
7. 10 selections – 30% Acca Boost
8. 11 selections – 35% Acca Boost
9. 12 selections – 40% Acca Boost
10. 13 selections – 45% Acca Boost
11. 14 selections – 50% Acca Boost
12. 15 selections or above – 100% Acca Boost
The increasing percentage of rewards in the Acca Boost reflects the relative risk of placing Qualifying Accas with a higher number of selections.
The following maximum Acca Boost amounts will be applied per Qualifying Acca:
1. For retail customers: £2,000
2. For online customers: £10,000.
There is no daily limit of Qualifying Accas.
In the case of void selections within a Qualifying Acca, the Acca Boost will still apply but the percentage applied will be calculated according to the final number of winning selections.
In the case of an Acca dropping to three selections or less, the acca will lose its Qualifying Acca status and Acca Boost will not apply.
Any Acca Boost on winnings will be applied as part of the standard bet settlement process.
Bets you place using free bets cannot be combined with the Acca Boost
Any acca that has been cashed out will not be eligible for an Acca Boost.
For retail customers, the promotion is not available on standard over the counter bets.
