Cincinnati Open Predictions: Best Bets for Sunday August 16th 2026
Sunday provides an enthralling slate of Cincinnati Open action, with some big names featured in our tennis betting tips.
Cincinnati Open Predictions Sunday
- Stefanos Tsitsipas to win (11/1)
- Over 23.5 games (17/20)
- Marta Kostyuk -6.5 games (11/10)
- Aryna Sabalenka -5.5 games (17/20)
Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. Félix Auger-Aliassime
Stefanos Tsitsipas has won seven of his last eight matches against Félix Auger-Aliassime. The Greek beat Sunday’s opponent in a hard-court final in Dubai last year, but he’s 44 places lower in the rankings.
A win in Gstaad was followed by less impressive showings in Montreal and Washington for Tsitsipas. This marks Auger-Aliassime’s first competitive tennis since an agonising loss to Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon.
It’s hard to trust either player. The head-to-head record has to mean something when there’s such a large sample, though.
Taylor Fritz vs. Alex Michelsen
Alex Michelsen won his first two matches against Taylor Fritz. Washington saw Fritz notch his first win over his compatriot en route to the title before a first-round exit in Montreal.
Michelsen’s only win against a top-10 player since last year’s Canadian Open came against Fritz earlier this year. His form is nothing to get too excited about, but he’s in the rhythm of winning matches thanks to the Challenger Tour.
Back this one to go deep.
Marta Kostyuk vs. Sofia Kenin
The only previous meeting between these players saw Sofia Kenin come from a set down in Dubai last year. All three sets had at least 12 games. Despite that result, Marta Kostyuk is the heavy favourite for this encounter in Cincinnati.
Kostyuk has been a breakout performer in 2026, with wins in Madrid and Rouen. She was a Wimbledon semifinalist and got a couple of wins in Toronto.
Kenin hasn’t won two matches at an event since the Tokyo Open in October 2025. This should be one-way traffic.
Aryna Sabalenka vs. Talia Gibson
Talia Gibson beat Lilli Tagger in the first round to set up a first meeting with Aryna Sabalenka. Gibson had to come from a set down.
Sabalenka has had a string of pretty disappointing results since winning in Miami and Indian Wells. Returning to hard courts is a positive for the world number one, though.
Gibson went on a run in Miami, with some wins against top 10 players, but Sabalenka is an entirely different task.
