FedEx St. Jude Championship Round 4 Tips: Harman & Koivun Fancied To Surge

| BY Sam Cox

Holding a two-shot lead going into the final round, Scottie Scheffler is 2/5 in the latest golf betting markets to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday.

Sam Burns vaulted into contention with an eight-under round on Saturday. Burns has the shortest odds in the Winner Without Scheffler market. Tom Kim shot seven under and Si Woo Kim went five under.

Sungjae Im and Burns are tied for second with a two-shot deficit to Scheffler. There’s a three-shot gap to Tommy Fleetwood and Jake Knapp, who are tied for fourth and five shots off the lead. Kim, Brian Harman, Hideki Matsuyama, and Alex Norén are seven under.

Threats to Surge on Sunday

Jackson Koivun had an excellent third round. He’s only three under for the tournament, but a 66 on Saturday saw Koivun sit third in tee to green strokes gained behind Si Woo and Burns.

Harman was fifth in the same metric. Going cold with his putter stopped the American from really climbing the leaderboard, but the signs are encouraging. He’s only four shots off second place.

For the tournament, Scheffler and Burns are the only players in the top nine in tee to green strokes gained to have gained more than one shot with their putter in hand. If Burns keeps that up, he can really pose a threat to Scheffler. Alternatively, it shows that there’s a group of players that are a good putting round away from going very low.

Value To Be Found

Yes, Scheffler is the world’s best golfer and has been brilliant at TPC Southwind this week. A 2/5 price to win outright with a two-shot lead is also too short. Bettors can find value in the tournament winner market with Burns at 4/1 and Harman as long as 150/1.

Given his history of success in this event and solid all-around play this week, Matsuyama is worth backing at 18/1 in the Winner Without Scheffler market.

What about Koivun at 15/2 for a top 10 placing? The tee to green play has been there, and the youngster enjoyed success at the 3M Open a matter of weeks ago.

The consistency of Norén shouldn’t be overlooked either after solid showings at the Wyndham Championship and The Open. The 17/20 for a top 10 is appealing.
