Cameron could take another big scalp
One of the biggest feathers in Chantelle Cameron’s cap is the fact that she is the only person to beat Katie Taylor, the Irish boxing legend who is considered one of the greatest of all time.
While that reads well, victory here would see her gain more tangible rewards and mean she would hold all three of the WBO, WBC and WBA titles for the first time in her career.
Is Mikaela Mayer beatable?
Mikaela Mayer’s career record of 22 wins, zero draws and two losses suggests she can be beaten, but her last loss came two-and-a-half years ago when Natasha Jones took the fight be split decision.
There was no shame in losing to Jonas – who held IBF, WBC and WBO titles at the time – and since then Mayer has been unstoppable. Her defeat of Mary Spencer was particularly taking as she won by unanimous decision to take the WBA, vacant WBC, and WBO female super welterweight titles.
Mayer is certainly beatable, but in this kind of form it’s easy to see why she’s the odds-on favourite.
