Sunday Premier League Roundup: Chelsea to edge Brighton, Leeds–Brentford tight again, Fulham strong away

The Premier League offers up four games on Sunday up and down England.

Getting the action started at 2pm, Chelsea welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Stamford Bridge, Elland Road will see Leeds United take on Brentford, whilst Fulham make the long trip north to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Later on Sunday afternoon, Manchester United will return to Old Trafford for the first time this season when they take on Ipswich Town.

Chelsea v Brighton – Sunday, 2pm

Chelsea have turned to Xabi Alonso as the man to potentially get them challenging again in the Premier League, they’ve made a great start to the campaign with a 3-2 victory against rivals Fulham, followed up with an 2-0 EFL Cup victory against Luton Town on Thursday night.
If the Blues are to continue that winning streak, they’ll have to do something they haven’t done since 2021, win their first home league game of the season, having won one, drawn four and lost two of their last seven attempts.
The Blues used to dominate this fixture having gone ten games unbeaten in their Premier League meetings but that’s changed in recent years, the London side have now lost five of their last eight games against the Seagulls, William Hill make Chelsea the 4/5 favourites for all three points.

Brighton were left frustrated following a 0-0 draw against Tromso ten days ago but they’ve certainly made up for that in their last two outings, a 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa in their Premier League opener was followed by another 4-0 victory, this time to secure UEFA Conference League football for this season.
The Seagulls travel to London with an impressive record away from home in Premier League openers, having won six of their last seven such games, whilst they’ve won their last three visits to Stamford Bridge in the top-flight.
Fabian Hurzeler’s side have conceded exactly two goals in four of their last five away league games against London opposition which will be concerning, yet their record here in recent years could tempt punters, with William Hill pricing the Seagulls at 21/10 for the win.

Leeds v Brentford – Sunday, 2pm

Daniel Farke was a man under pressure at various points last season, but Leeds stuck by the German and it proved an inspired decision. The Whites went on to finish fourteenth in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup semi‑finals, a campaign that restored stability and optimism at Elland Road.
Leeds have started this new campaign well as well, a late goal from Anton Stach secured them all three points in their Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest, whilst they returned to the City Ground just 3 days later, winning 2-0 in the EFL Cup.
The Yorkshire side also boast an excellent record at Elland Road against Brentford, they’re now unbeaten in their last eight home games against the Bees (W3, D5) but despite the last three here ending all square, William Hill priced Leeds as the slight favourites at 6/4.

Brentford narrowly missed out on European football last season on goal difference, a painful blow for the Bees faithful, but optimism remains high in west London that Keith Andrews’ side can produce something similar this time around.
They also made the perfect start to the campaign with a 3-0 victory last Saturday against Tottenham Hotspur on home soil, whilst they hit Birmingham City for six (1-6) away from home in their EFL Cup clash on Tuesday evening.
Brentford have the chance to end a record here, victory on Sunday would see the Bees win their opening two league games of the season for the first time since doing so in 2006 during their League One campaign, they can be backed at 7/4 with William Hill to pick up all three points here in west Yorkshire.

Sunderland v Fulham – Sunday, 2pm

Sunderland shocked many last season, their first campaign back in the Premier League ending with a superb seventh‑place finish that secured UEFA Europa League football and defied the betting markets.
However, concerns have already surfaced about whether the Black Cats can cope with the added demands of European competition, especially after a quiet summer in the transfer window that has left some questioning their squad depth.
A little bit of naivety late in their game against Ipswich Town cost the Black Cats dearly, playing out from the back ultimately cost them a draw. Sunderland are priced at 7/5 here with William Hill, although they haven’t won any of their last six Premier League meetings against Fulham (D3, L3).

Fulham got their campaign off with a defeat on home soil to rivals Chelsea on Monday evening but they looked good going forward and could count themselves unlucky not to pick up a draw in that opener.
The Cottagers bounced back on Thursday night with a comfortable 3-0 victory against League One side AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup, they travel to Sunderland knowing they’ve never lost their opening two Premier League games since returning back to the top-flight in 2020/2021.
Fulham have won their last three meetings against the Black Cats in all competitions, including completing the double over them last season and with all that said, there could be value in a Fulham victory here at 19/10 with William Hill.

Significant Conditions

The promotion runs from 08:00 (UK time) on Thursday 7th August 2025 until otherwise cancelled by us in accordance with these Terms (the “Promotion Period”).
This Acca Boost promotion is available to both online customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland using the William Hill website (williamhill.com – the “Website”) or William Hill iOS or Android Mobile app (together, the “Apps”) and UK retail customers in William Hill shops.
To qualify, place a Qualifying Acca on a Sports Betting Terminal or over the counter on Smart Hub SSBT in William Hill shops, or online via the Website or the App, during the Promotion Period.
A “Qualifying Acca” is:
1. A cash stake of any value (no minimum stake);
2. On any football acca made of 4 or more selections;

The increasing percentage of rewards in the Acca Boost reflects the relative risk of placing Qualifying Accas with a higher number of selections.
The following maximum Acca Boost amounts will be applied per Qualifying Acca:
1. For retail customers: £2,000
2. For online customers: £10,000.
There is no daily limit of Qualifying Accas.
In the case of void selections within a Qualifying Acca, the Acca Boost will still apply but the percentage applied will be calculated according to the final number of winning selections.
In the case of an Acca dropping to three selections or less, the acca will lose its Qualifying Acca status and Acca Boost will not apply.
Any Acca Boost on winnings will be applied as part of the standard bet settlement process.
Bets you place using free bets cannot be combined with the Acca Boost
Any acca that has been cashed out will not be eligible for an Acca Boost.
For retail customers, the promotion is not available on standard over the counter bets.
