Northern Ireland Open Best Bets: Jones & Anda Head Tasty Treble On Wednesday

| BY Sam Cox

Here are the best snooker betting tips for Wednesday 21st October 2026, with William Hill News previewing the action at the Northern Ireland Open.

Northern Ireland Open Predictions Today:

  • Jak Jones to win (11/10)
  • Zhang Anda to win (Evens)
  • Martin O’Donnell +1.5 (5/4)

John Higgins vs Jak Jones Prediction

Fresh off a 4-1 win over Liam Highfield, John Higgins will be looking to kickstart his season after a string of disappointing results. Jak Jones, though, is far from an easy opponent, with the Welshman winning the Championship League and the British Open.

Higgins has won three of the previous four meetings, but it’s notable that they’ve only faced each other once since 2020.

Reputation alone might make Higgins the obvious pick. We’re not going to overlook Jones’ form here, so he’s the man we’re backing.

Zhang Anda vs Mark Williams Prediction

A quarter-final run at the China Open is Zhang Anda’s most impressive showing this season. Zhang lost in the qualifiers for the Shenzhen Open after falling in the second round in the British Open and the English Open.

Mark Williams has been searching for consistency. He also failed to qualify for the Shenzhen Open, but he was the runner-up at the English Open after losing a British Open qualifier.

Two of Anda’s three wins against Williams have come in their last three meetings, including at the most recent World Grand Prix. That head-to-head record has to be taken into account.

Luca Brecel vs Martin O’Donnell Prediction

The days of being a top five player in the world are a long way behind Luca Brecel. This is the first ranking event he’s qualified for since the Championship League, and he’s fallen to 44th in the world rankings.

Martin O’Donnell is in a similar spot. He’s 12 ranking spots behind Brecel, and a stunning win over Judd Trump means he’s into a ranking second round for the first time since last season’s World Open. In terms of snooker prize money, a win here would be huge for him.

O’Donnell has a perfect record against Brecel. His confidence couldn’t be higher after toppling Trump.
