Premier League Puma Ball 2025-26

After a midweek full of European football, the Premier League returns this weekend for Matchday seven, with all fixtures taking place across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the English Premier League..

With just one game left to play before Premier League players head to represent their countries in a second International break of the season, Premier League managers will be hoping their sides can end this period strongly. Make sure to check out this weekends Acca on William Hill News.

Sunday provides five games in the Premier League, four of which kick-off at 2pm. Aston Villa welcome Burnley to Villa Park, Everton and Crystal Palace lock horns at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Newcastle United return to St James’ Park to take on Nottingham Forest, whilst Wolves and Brighton go head-to-head at Molineux.

The late kick-off in the Premier League comes from West London, as Brentford take on Manchester City to conclude the action on this busy Sunday.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Sunday’s fixtures:

Aston Villa v Burnley – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Aston Villa v Burnley with William Hill

  • After a slow start to the season, Aston Villa finally picked up their first three points of the season last Sunday with a 3-1 victory against Fulham, in a game which Unai Emery’s side had to come from behind in.
  • After their midweek trip to Rotterdam, Aston Villa return to familiar surroundings where they’ve been fairly solid in recent months, having lost just once here in their last twenty-five outings in all competitions.
  • Another victory here and suddenly the season looks completely different for Aston Villa and they should win if recent history is anything to go by, unbeaten in their last four meetings against Burnley with victories in three of those.
    ——————————–
  • Burnley have won just one of their first six Premier League games since returning to the top-flight and travel to the Midlands on Sunday off the back of a 5-1 thumping away at Manchester City last weekend.
  • The Clarets are now winless in their last five across all competitions (D1, L4) and are yet to pick up a single point on the road in this campaign, with defeats at Tottenham, Manchester United and Manchester City, tough fixtures in fairness.
  • Burnley have won just one of their last nine visits to Villa over the years, that came back in 2015 but that doesn’t tell the full story with the Clarets losing just one of their last six trips here (W1, D4, L1).

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Aston Villa To Win, Aston Villa 2-1 Burnley

Everton v Crystal Palace – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Everton v Crystal Palace with William Hill

  • Everton have just hit a bit of a stumbling block in recent weeks after their strong start to their new life at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, they head into this game without a win in their last five games in all competitions.
  • This is the second time within a week that Everton have faced a side from London having faced West Ham here on Monday evening, despite taking the lead and looking fairly comfortable in that game, they ended up with just a point (1-1) whilst it could have even ended in a defeat towards the end.
  • The Toffees might be confident of getting back to winning ways here though as they’ve not lost to Palace in their last nine meetings, whilst they’ve won seven of the last nine meetings on home soil against the Eagles.
    ——————————–
  • What a job that Oliver Glasner is doing with Crystal Palace right now, the Eagles remain the only side in the Premier League yet to suffer a defeat having taken twelve points from a possible eighteen (W3, D3.
  • Palace faced Liverpool at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon and looked as though they had missed their chance of picking up three points after conceding late on but Eddie Nketiah’s last minute winner means that Glasner’s side sit third in the PL at the time of writing.
  • The last three meetings between these two sides have produced both teams to score, i think we could see more of the same on Sunday but i’m going to back a draw in this one, with nothing to separate the two sides.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Everton 1-1 Crystal Palace

Newcastle United v Nottingham Forest – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Newcastle v Nottingham Forest with William Hill

  • It’s been a slow start to the new Premier League campaign for Newcastle United having won just one of their first six outings and will be frustrated with the fact they failed to see out their 1-0 lead against Arsenal last weekend with around ten minutes left to play.
  • The Magpies have seen just nine goals in their first five games of this season, five of which came against Liverpool, their lack of attacking threat so far could be a concern for Eddie Howe and co as the goals seem to have dried up since the departure of Alexander Isak, they’ve scored a joint-league low of four goals so far.
  • However, history of this fixture suggests that the Magpies could pick up just their second victory of this PL campaign given they’ve won each of the last three English top-flight meetings between these two sides.
    ——————————–
  • Nottingham Forest are still looking for their first PL win under Ange Postecoglou and the pressure could already be mounting a little, especially after suffering a shock 1-0 defeat to newly-promoted side Sunderland last Saturday, much to the displeasure of the Forest faithful.
  • Nottingham Forest will head to Newcastle fresh from their European outing at the City Ground on Thursday night, the Tricky Trees are yet to win on the road in all competitions so far this season (D3, L2).
  • Well this is a fixture that tends to produce goals more often than not, eleven of the last twelve meetings between these two sides have seen both teams find the back of the net, along with all eleven of those games producing at least three goals.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Newcastle To Win, Newcastle United 3-2 Nottingham Forest

Wolves v Brighton & Hove Albion – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Wolves v Brighton & Hove Albion with William Hill

  • Having picked up their first point of the season last weekend at Spurs in a 1-1 draw, Wolves will now be looking to build on that as they remain the only side in the Premier League so far that are yet to win a game.
  • The Old Gold have actually won two games already at Molineux this season but both of those came in the EFL Cup against PL opposition (West Ham & Everton) so there is hope here but having lost each of their last five PL home games, it’ll be a tough ask.
  • It’s also not been the best fixture for Wolves over recent years and especially on home soil, they’ve lost four of their last five meetings here against Brighton, their only victory in that period came in a 1-0 win in the FA Cup back in February 2024.
    ——————————–
  • Fabian Hurzeler would have been frustrated to see his side throw away a 2-0 lead against Tottenham to draw 2-2 on the south coast but will be pleased with how his side bounced back from that frustration.
  • Having thumped Barnsley 6-0 away from home, that’s back-to-back 6-0 victories in the EFL Cup for the Seagulls but they then travelled to Chelsea and made the most of their extra man advantage, leaving West London with all three points after a 3-1 victory.
  • Brighton have seen five of their six games (83%) so far in the Premier League produce both teams to score, whilst they’ve won two of those fixtures and i think we’ll be in for more of the same at Molineux on Sunday afternoon.

Prediction: Brighton To Win, Wolves 1-2 Brighton & Hove Albion

Brentford v Manchester City – Sunday, 4.30pm

Punters can bet on Brentford v Man City with William Hill

  • Losing three of your best players along with your manager is always going to be a tough test going into a new campaign but Brentford have shown real character and having beaten Manchester United 3-1 here last Saturday, they’ll be hoping to take down the other side of Manchester on Sunday.
  • Scoring first and not seeing the game out has been a flaw of Brentford’s even last season and it’s continued under Keith Andrews, the Bees have scored first in five of their six games thus far.
  • Brentford have lost three of their last four games against Manchester City but have taken something from three of their last five meetings here in West London, a bit of hope for the Bees.
    ——————————–
  • Having conceded late heartbreak away to Arsenal, Manchester City made no mistake against Burnley last weekend with an emphatic 5-1 victory to cut the gap from Liverpool to five points at this early stage.
  • It’s still been their worst start to a Premier League campaign since 2006 and it’s the inconsistency that Pep Guardiola’s side have already struggled with this season but they’ve lost just one of their last seven away games in the PL, maybe their consistency can start on the road.
  • Despite what Brentford produced here last weekend, i’m finding it hard to back against Manchester City here as i’m expected Pep Guardiola’s side to create plenty of chances and with the form of Erling Haaland right now, it’s always tough to back against them.

Prediction: Erling Haaland To Score 2 Or More, Brentford 0-3 Manchester City
