Premier League Preview: Who you got?

The Champions League returned this week and it saw wins for two of the Premier League sides (Manchester City and Arsenal), with only Manchester United failing to take something from MD1.

With teams also in Europa League and Europa Conference League action, it will be interesting to see how teams readjust for this weekend’s fixtures.

The highlight is undoubtedly Sunday’s north London derby, while Luton v Wolves on Saturday could already be dubbed a ‘six-pointer’.

Burnley v Man Utd

Life back in the Premier League has not started well for Burnley, although Vincent Kompany’s side did pick up their first point of the season on Monday against Nottingham Forest. Can they build on that with a win against a faltering Man Utd side?

The Clarets are 17/5 to claim all three points and pile the pressure on Erik ten Hag. However, United are unbeaten in seven at Turf Moor (W5 D2) and have won their last eight in a row against promoted sides.

Marcus Rashford will be key to United’s chances in Lancashire. Only Erling Haaland (29) has had more shots than the England forward this season (23). Get 4/1 on Rashford having over two shots on target in the match.

Fans of cards will have been loving the start to the new season. Last Saturday saw 44 yellow cards shown across the seven games, a Premier League record on a single day of action since 1998. Arsenal v Spurs

The north London derby promises to be a thriller with both sides currently on 13 points from their opening five matches. Arsenal edged past Everton 1-0 last weekend, while Spurs scored twice in second-half stoppage time to beat Sheffield United 2-1.

Arsenal are unbeaten against their bitter rivals at the Emirates since 2010 (W8 D4) and were 3-1 winners in this fixture last season. It’s 19/10 the Gunners get another victory, with both sides finding the net.

Spurs have won their last two having conceded first. Will they show their battling qualities for a third game in a row? It’s 10/1 Arsenal lead at half-time but fail to win.

Son Heung-min could be the man to fire to victory. He’s scored in four of the last seven north London derbies and is 7/1 to net the last goal in this one.

From an Arsenal perspective, Bukayo Saka could be worth a look. He’s been involved in 18 goals in his last 18 Premier League home appearances (12 goals, 6 assists) and has either scored or assisted in all three league games at the Emirates Stadium this season. Saka is 11/5 to net at any time to follow his strike against PSV on Wednesday.

Liverpool v West Ham

After their European exploits this week, Liverpool and West Ham return to league action on Sunday afternoon at Anfield. The Reds are unbeaten in 16 Premier League games (W11 D5) and have won their last six top-flight home matches against the Hammers.

A Liverpool win is odds-on, while it’s 9/5 they win to nil. David Moyes has a particularly bad record against the Reds. The Hammers boss has never won in 18 previous visits to Anfield in the league (D6 L12). His side are 11/2 to break that streak.

Looking for a goalscorer in this one? Mohamed Salah has nine in 12 against West Ham. It’s EVS he scores at any time. Salah has either scored or assisted in his last 11 league games.

From a West Ham perspective, James Ward-Prowse has been impressing since moving from Southampton, but Jarrod Bowen is on fire away from home. He’s scored in all three of West Ham’s Premier League games on the road this season. Bowen is 19/5 to net at Anfield.
