The William Hill Scottish Premiership title race is starting to heat up and Sunday will see two title contenders in action.
Hibernian will welcome Rangers to Easter Road at 2pm, whilst Celtic return to Celtic Park as they take on Falkirk at 3pm.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some Scottish Premiership odds and betting angles for Sunday’s fixtures:
Hibernian v Rangers – Sunday, 2pm
Punters can bet on Hibernian v Rangers with William Hill
- Hibernian return to Easter Road looking to bounce back from a 4-1 thumping away at Falkirk last Saturday, David Gray’s side sit fifth in the William Hill Scottish Premiership and just five points behind Motherwell in fourth.
- Hibs have only lost two of their last 23 home league games (W14 D7), both of those have been against the two Old Firm clubs, going down 0-1 to Rangers in October and 1-2 to Celtic in November.
- This is a fixture that Hibs tend to struggle in, they’ve failed to win any of their last sixteen meetings as the home side against Rangers across all competitions, whilst they’ve won just one of their last twenty-eight Premiership meetings against Rangers.
——————————–———————— - Rangers had almost wrote off their full campaign before Danny Rohl took over as the new boss but with just one defeat in his first fourteen league games, Rangers have got themselves back in title contention, now just four points behind Hearts.
- The Gers suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Porto on Thursday night which just summed up their terrible UEFA Europa League campaign but that remains their only defeat in their last nine outings, with victories in eight of those games.
- Rangers have won each of their last six league games, the joint-longest run by any side in this season’s Scottish Premiership and i’m expecting that run to continue on Sunday as the title race really starts to heat up.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Rangers To Win, Hibs 1-2 Rangers.
Celtic v Falkirk – Sunday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Celtic v Falkirk with William Hill
- Celtic kept their UEFA Europa League dreams alive on Thursday night with a 4-2 victory here against Dutch side FC Utrecht, that now extends Martin O’Neil’s unbeaten run to six games since taking over for a second time this season.
- The Hoops lost some ground on Rangers last weekend having played out a 2-2 draw against the league leaders Hearts, they now sit third in the league and six points off the summit at the time of writing.
- Celtic have won each of their last seven meetings with Falkirk in all competitions, last winning eight in a row in December 1973, whilst they’ve lost just two of their eleven league games this season on home soil.
——————————–———————— - Three wins from their last four games in the William Hill Scottish Premiership has seen Falkirk move up to sixth in the league having been promoted back to the Scottish top-flight back in May, it’s been an impressive campaign thus far.
- Despite a solid campaign so far, John McGlynn’s side will have to create a bit of history on Sunday if they are to pick up another three points as the underdogs, with the Bairns not winning a league game here at Celtic Park since 1994.
- Falkirk have lost fifteen of their last seventeen away games at Celtic, the Hoops look rejuvenated (again) under Martin O’Neil and it’s hard to see anything other than a home victory in this one on Sunday.
Prediction: Celtic -2 Handicap, Celtic 4-0 Falkirk.
