France v England: 2/1 BTTS & France Win in a Clash Both Sides Wanted to Avoid

William Hill News tipster @Footy_Tipster previews Saturday’s 2026 World Cup Bronze Final between France and England.

Our Prediction: Both Teams To Score & France To Win (2/1), France 2-1 England (17/2)

Both France and England would rather have not played this game but semi-final defeats against the odds means the two nations will meet on Saturday in the 2026 World Cup bronze medal match.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some World Cup odds and betting angles for Saturday’s fixture:

France v England – Saturday, 10pm

  • France were the tournament favourites but put in their worst performance of the campaign in the semi-final against Spain, much of the credit has to be given to La Roja for their dominance but ultimately it’s a disappointing end for Les Belus.
  • This will be Didier Deschamps’ final tournament in charge of France but he won’t be bowing out in style, despite not being able to add to his 2018 World Cup success, he’ll want to end his time in charge with a win.
  • This is a fixture that tends to favour the French over the years, they’ve won five of their last seven meetings with the Three Lions in all competitions (D1, L1), Les Bleus can be backed at 17/20 with William Hill to win this.

  • England were just five minutes away from securing just their second-ever World Cup final but in the end it was more heartache for the Three Lions, conceding two late goals and losing the game 2-1 to Argentina confirmed 60 years of hurt.
  • A lot has been said about Thomas Tuchel’s tactics, having taken the lead in the 55th minute, his side then decided to sit back and invite the pressure with no outlet, which frustrated and baffled the majority of people but having 12% possession for 35 minutes against Argentina was only going to end one way.
  • England’s two prior appearances in the third-place play-off ended in defeat, only one team in history has ever lost three times at this stage, the Three Lions are 23/10 to end the 2026 World Cup with a win inside 90 minutes.
