Scotland v Morocco – Friday, 11pm
View all available markets at William Hill.
- Scotland claimed their first World Cup victory since 1998 on Sunday with a hard‑fought 1-0 win over Haiti, and now have the chance to make history — the Scots have never won more than once at any major tournament.
- A draw may ultimately be enough to secure a place in the knockout rounds for the first time, but Steve Clarke will know that victory here would guarantee Scotland’s progression to the round of 32. It’s a huge opportunity for a side building real momentum.
- This is only the second meeting between the nations, the first coming at the 1998 World Cup when Morocco ran out 3-0 winners. Scotland will be out for revenge, but with so much at stake, William Hill price Clarke’s men at 19/5 to take all three points.
- Morocco remain one of the tournament’s most popular dark‑horse picks, and they justified that status with a strong start, holding Brazil to a 1-1 draw to extend their remarkable unbeaten run to 30 matches in all competitions — an extraordinary streak at this level.
- Mohamed Ouahbi’s side should be full of confidence, especially given their impressive record against European opposition at World Cups. The Atlas Lions are unbeaten in five of their last six group‑stage meetings with UEFA nations (W2, D3), and while they cannot secure qualification on Friday, a victory would put them in an excellent position ahead of their final group game against Haiti.
- Having famously reached the semi‑finals in 2022, Morocco believe they can replicate that achievement here in North America. William Hill make them 8/11 favourites to beat Scotland in Foxborough on Friday.
