| BY News Team

The men’s Senegal national football team has represented the country in international tournaments since its founding in 1960, shortly after Senegal gained independence from France.

In 2002, Senegal were the second African team in history to reach the World Cup quarter-finals, after Cameroon, and have since developed into one of the best sides in Africa and a threatening force on the world stage.
