Group H Pressure: Spain 17/20 to Respond in Style with 3‑0 (9/2) a Popular Play

William Hill News tipster @Footy_Tipster previews Sunday’s 2026 World Cup game between Spain and Saudi Arabia.

Our Prediction: Spain -2 Handicap (17/20), Spain 3-0 Saudi Arabia (9/2).

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta awaits as Spain are looking to bounce back and pick up their first victory of this 2026 World Cup, they face a Saudi Arabia side looking to defy the betting odds.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some World Cup odds and betting angles for Sunday’s fixture:

Spain v Saudi Arabia – Sunday, 5pm

  • Spain are heavy favourites on Sunday, but that has already counted for little at this World Cup after La Roja were held to a goalless draw by Cape Verde in their opener — a result that leaves this group wide open heading into matchday two.
  • On the biggest stage, Spain have underwhelmed in recent years, exiting in the last sixteen at each of the past two World Cups. They now head into this fixture without a win in their last four matches at the tournament, and they have never gone five World Cup games without victory.
  • Like Brazil, Spain will want to deliver a statement performance and remind everyone why they remain one of the tournament’s leading contenders. Their defensive record offers encouragement: they have kept eight clean sheets in their last eleven matches. William Hill price Spain at 4/9 to win this game to nil.

  • Despite having just 33% of the possession in their opening game against Uruguay, Saudi Arabia managed to take their chance and pick up their first point of the campaign, putting them second prior to this clash with Spain.
  • Saudi Arabia stunned Argentina four years ago with a 2-1 victory that ultimately defied the betting odds, they face Spain looking for more of the same but history suggests they’ll struggle, having lost ten of their last eleven World Cup games against European opposition.
  • Saudi Arabia’s best ever performance at a World Cup came back in 1994, here in the USA. They’ll be more hopeful of beating Cape Verde in the final group H game but punters can back the Green Falcons at 28/1 with William Hill to produce another upset.

Bet Builder Hub:

  • Team with most Corners –  Spain – Spain should control this game and dominate the corner count.
  • Both Teams To Score – No – Spain have kept eight clean sheets in their last eleven games.
  • Player to be Carded – Mohamed Kanno – Kanno has picked up a yellow card in two of his last six outings.
