Scottie Scheffler The Red Hot Favourite At Cadillac Championship 2026
A packed PGA Tour schedule has led to a weaker than expected field for this week’s Cadillac Championship and William Hill News preview the action.
Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele, Bob MacIntyre, and Ludvig Åberg are sitting this one out with their eyes firmly fixed on next month’s PGA Championship.
In the absence of five of the world’s top 15 players, Scottie Scheffler and Cameron Young are the only players with outright golf betting odds shorter than 20/1. Collin Morikawa sits at 20s ahead of Tommy Fleetwood and Russell Henley.
Trump National Doral hosted the Doral Open until 2006 and then held the WGC-Cadillac Championship from 2007 until 2016. The Blue Monster, one of the four courses at the resort, has hosted events in each season of LIV Golf.
This is the PGA Tour’s first event at Doral’s Blue Monster since 2016, with the tournament returning under the ‘Cadillac Championship’ name. It’s a Signature Event and has been marketed as a ‘new’ tournament, despite Doral’s history.
Adam Scott and Justin Rose are previous winners on the Blue Monter. Both sit at 28/1 to win this week.

New-Look Course
With modern-day big hitters making the course look far too easily, a major renovation took place of the Blue Monster in the 2010s.
Previous scores must be taken with a pinch of salt – the course has been lengthened significantly, so distance off the tee is important.
High winds can make the course even more challenging. The weather is set fair in Miami, though, so we could see some very low scores over the 72 holes.
Fairways are wider than most PGA Tour courses, though well-placed bunkers and water hazards provide a challenge for even the biggest hitters.
Big Hitters Rejoice
Big fairways invite the sport’s longest drivers to let it rip. There are hazards along the way, but golfers like Chris Gotterup and Cameron Young are primed to contend in Doral.
Young has an exceptional record in Florida, achieving a string of top four finishes. He’s second to McIlroy in shots gained off the tee this year and 16th on approach shots.
Play around the green let Gotterup down at the RBC Heritage. He’s fourth in average driver distance in 2026 and has played some good golf of late, including a sixth at the Houston Open.
Twice a winner earlier this year, Gotterup is great value as an each-way bet here. He will be hard to beat if he can address the around-the-green woes he endured last time out.
Other Value Picks
Previous winners at this course, Rose and Scott shouldn’t be written off. Rose tied for third at the Masters after finishing 13th at TPC Sawgrass in the Players Championship. If he can drive as accurately as he did at Augusta, he’s got a great chance.
Scott has played some solid golf this year, including a fourth place at the Genesis Invitational. With the distance he can get off the tee and his elite approach play, the Aussie is more than capable of contending.
Remember that many of the fancied players haven’t played the Blue Monster before – experience stands Rose and Scott in good stead.
Even after a disappointing 74th at RBC Heritage, we’re going back to Jake Knapp to finish in the top 10. Knapp is having a brilliant season.
He’s seventh in strokes gained overall and can put most of his struggles at his last event down to uncharacteristic problems with his putter. He’s had five top 10s since the start of February.
