HASSELBOMB surprised a few last week when winning his heat by just over four lengths at 10/1. He made every yard in the red jacket, where he is housed in the second of Wednesday night’s semi-finals (20:31), and a repeat would see the rest of them playing catch up from the off.
This lad seems to massively improve his trapping once he’s had experience of a track, as demonstrated by a 5.33s split on his first look round, and a rapid 5.15s last week. I can’t imagine him going much quicker than that this week, but an equally quick getaway should secure victory.
He wouldn’t be the winning most hound with just four victories to his name from eighteen starts, but he seems to have really taken to Yarmouth with a good second and his impressive win last week. I think he can add to his tally, as long as his trapping holds up.
