Dani Jackson’s Blog: Droopys Plunge tipped to make it four at Hove

William Hill ambassador Dani Jackson is back with her weekend Greyhound NAP, with Droopys Plunge tipped to make it four at Hove.

The 2025 Derby hero is back, and he hasn’t lost his appetite for winning. After a long-awaited return to racing in September, Droopys Plunge has reeled off three victories on the bounce at his favourite track, Towcester.

He trialled over the 500 metres recently and stopped the clock at 29.01, a rapid time that suggests the old spark is still very much there. He’s found himself in a winnable heat in my opinion, and I fully expect him to ping out of the traps and make all.

It’s a remarkable comeback considering Plunge was sidelined for the best part of a year with injury. Trainer Patrick Janssens has been patient with his kennel star, and he’s got his sights set on at least one more big crown before Plunge heads into retirement.

The champ turns four next month, and this will be his seventh tilt at a Category One competition. Here’s the kicker: he’s only made one final. But what a final it was. The biggest of the lot, at Towcester, where he got the break of his life and took home the Derby trophy.

I was on him for that one, and I’m on him again antepost for the Gold Collar. Here’s hoping the champion is back to his best and can show us once more what he’s made of.

In the meantime, you’ve got a superb afternoon of racing at Hove to enjoy. So sit back, relax and take in the best greyhound racing has to offer.
