Charlie Hills’ William Hill blog: Chance Chiedozie at Windsor

| BY News Team

It was fantastic to win the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes last week with Khaadem. Obviously he was a massive price, so it was a big surprise. A lot of it was about the ride he got from Jamie Spencer, which was brilliant.

He’d had seven attempts in Group 1 company before Saturday, so I always thought he was up to winning at the top level. It’s taken a while to get there, but it’s fantastic that he’s managed to achieve it.

Now we might have a look at the July Cup, but he would need to be supplemented for it.

Newmarket, Saturday

Pogo won the Criterion (1.50pm) last year. This is obviously quite a quick turnaround from his run at Ascot last week, but he’s an experienced horse so he should be able to cope with it.

It rained a bit on Thursday and hopefully it will dry up a bit for him before the race on Saturday.

We’ll see how we go with him, but hopefully he can put up a good show.

Windsor, Saturday

We also run Chiedozie at Windsor (2.45pm). I thought he ran a nice race first time out when finishing sixth over the same six furlongs.

His work has been nice and he’s a horse that we like quite a bit. He should come on for his debut run and I’d probably say he would be our best chance of the weekend.

Chester, Saturday

Divine Libra runs at Chester (3.42pm) and he’s making his second start in handicaps. We’ve given him a bit of a break to freshen him up after his last run, as I just felt he ran a bit flat at Newmarket in May.

Like most Dark Angels he’d like a little bit of give in the ground.

If he bounces back to anything like the form when he won his maiden at Catterick in April, then he should have a good chance.
