Charlie Hills’ William Hill blog: Orazio one of our big hopes of the week

William Hill ambassador Charlie Hills looks ahead to his runners on days three, four and five of Royal Ascot.

Royal Ascot, Thursday

Everyone at the yard is looking forward to Thursday at Royal Ascot as we have two in the Britannia (5:00pm).

Racingbreaks Ryder has won four on the bounce, including at the track last time out, and is just a thoroughly tough horse who is progressing with every run.

We come in here off a mark of 97 having started the season off just 79, so things are a bit tougher now, but he’s hopefully still on the up.

We wouldn’t mind it if one or two showers hit either, that would help him.

Saxon King also goes in the same race looking to back up his win at Chester last Saturday.

It’s a quick turnaround but he seems up for the fight at the moment so we thought we’d take our chance.

Like Racingbreaks Ryder, we wouldn’t be against any rain coming down.

Royal Ascot, Friday

On Friday, we’ve got Lady Alara in the Sandringham (5:00pm).

She had some good form as a two-year-old and just had a quiet reappearance on her first start this term.

We’ve had this race in the back of our minds for quite a while, so we thought we’d keep her fresh for it.

Royal Ascot, Saturday

Orazio in the Wokingham (5:00pm) on Saturday looks like one of our big hopes of the whole week.

It’s not easy to say that given how competitive the Wokingham often is, but we do like him a lot.

He’s been in fine form this season, winning both starts, and comes in here off 102.

We were very patient with him last year, so we think he’s still not quite as exposed as some of the others in the race.

Like with my runners on Thursday and Friday, any rain that falls would be a bonus, but not essential. He ran a good race as a two-year-old on fast ground.
