Royal Ascot Tips Day 4: Friday’s Best Bets & Predictions
William Hill News tipster Steve Mullington previews each race on Day 4 at the 2026 Royal Ascot meeting, so check out his best selections and betting tips on Friday’s card below.
With the runners and riders declared at 10am on Wednesday, there’s been plenty of time to study form and we’re now ready for the fourth day at the Berkshire track – hopefully it lives up to the hype.
Lucky Stable is a free-to-play racing game available every day during Royal Ascot. You can find it in the Lucky Stable lobby.
Just enter the Royal Ascot game and select “Reveal Stable” to draw five horses at random. You win a share of the jackpot prize if three (3) or more of their drawn horses win their respective races.
2:30pm – Albany Stakes (Group 3, 6f)
At around 28/1 in our horse racing betting, the Wathnan Racing-owned HIDDEN GIFT looks rather generous given her jockey and her trainer.
Narrowly beaten at Ripon on debut, Richard Fahey has stepped the filly up a furlong and has employed the services of the world class James MacDonald to ride her. I can see her outrunning her odds.
3:05pm – Commonwealth Cup (Group 1, 6f)
The Karl Burke-trained VENETIAN SUN (NB) was a clearcut winner at Haydock Park last time out and she can step up from a Group 2 to a Group 1 no problem.
The Starman-filly is already a prolific winner in her short career, and at odds of 6/4 in our sports betting, she’s a win bet for sure.
3:40pm – Duke of Edinburgh Stakes Handicap (Class 2, 1m4f)
No Royal winners so far this week, but WARRANT HOLDER can right that wrong over this 1m4f trip.
An impressive winner of a handicap at York’s Dante meeting, the four-year-old can make the podium spots at the very least today. William Buick takes the ride for the in-form Gosden stable.
4:20pm – Coronation Stakes (Group 1, 7f)
If they were handing out prizes for consistency then TRUE LOVE would be at the top of the list.
At the odds, I’ll take on the favourite with this 1000 Guineas winner as I feel she can turn that Curragh form around on a track like Ascot.
5:00pm – Sandringham Stakes Handicap (Class 2, 1m)
Francis Graffard has had a decent meet thus far and his REPEL can keep the yard form going this week.
The filly rocked up at Nancy last time out and tackles this one mile trip for the first time. At odds of 16/1, and with Colin Keane on board, she’s an each-way play for punters.
5:35pm – King Edward VII Stakes (Group 2, 1m3f)
At WATER TO WINE’S (NAP) second outing late last month, he once again looked a high-class prospect when cruising home to an easy 11-length victory at Kempton and now heads into proper racing territory for the first time in a race that is commonly known as the ‘Ascot Derby’.
Given the stallion power of Kingman and the Group-winning ability of his dam, this Gosden runner can dominate proceedings and is a worthy favourite in our sports betting.
6:10pm – Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes Handicap (Class 2, 5f)
WESTPORT is currently three from three going into this handicap and he definitely got to stretch his legs out at Hamilton 47 days ago.
Given a rating of 95, he can make the most of his lenient mark and represents the same successful connections as Bow Echo earlier in the week.
