Royal Ascot Tips Day 5: Saturday’s Best Bets & Predictions

William Hill News tipster Steve Mullington previews each race on Day 5 at the 2026 Royal Ascot meeting, so check out his best selections and betting tips on Saturday’s card below.

With the fifth day’s runners and riders declared on Thursday morning, the stage is set for an exhilarating final day of racing at the Berkshire track and racegoers will be hoping for a few winners to end the meeting on a high.

Lucky Stable is a free-to-play racing game available every day during Royal Ascot. You can find it in the Lucky Stable lobby.

Just enter the Royal Ascot game and select “Reveal Stable” to draw five horses at random.  You win a share of the jackpot prize if three (3) or more of their drawn horses win their respective races.

2:30pm – Norfolk Stakes (Group 2, 5f)

The Aidan O’Brien-trained CARRY THE FLAG (NB) won a five-furlong maiden at Naas prior to finishing second to Great Barrier Reef in the Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh.

The youngster is the clear form pick in this race and at odds of 9/4 in our horse racing betting, he’s a win selection.

3:05pm – Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2, 1m3f)

JAN BRUEGHAL absolutely hated the conditions at Epsom last time, with a better gauge to his current form being his Ormonde Stakes victory at Chester prior.

The former Coronation Cup winner is a total class act and odds of 5/1 in our sports betting should be snaffled up.

3:40pm – Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (Group 1, 6f)

The Australian sprint queen JOLIESTAR (NAP) enters the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes as the clear favourite in our betting markets, possessing a devastating turn-of-foot, and proven Group 1 pedigree, that will give her  the tactical edge to deal with her rivals over this straight six furlongs.

4:20pm – Jersey Stakes (Group 3, 7f)

SABER STRIKE made his seasonal reappearance at Newmarket on May 1, landing the Listed King Charles II Stakes over seven furlongs.

Trainer William Haggas originally considered him for the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup, so dropping into a Group 3 gives him a massive class advantage.

5:00pm – Wokingham Stakes Handicap (Class 2, 6f)

With a maximum field of 28 lining up here it can pay to be double-handed with a couple of each-way selections.

The Gosden’s have a very interesting Godolphin-owned contender in the shape of SPY CHIEF.

The four-year-old gelding has won one of nine starts, a novice at Yarmouth in June 2025 and placed in the Group 3 Jersey at Royal Ascot last season. This term, he was last seen finishing a neck second to Almeraq in the Listed Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury.

At a much bigger price, The Horse Watchers syndicate must be starting to like the chances of their five-year-old gelding ROYAL ZABEEL.

He ran a highly encouraging fifth in the Victoria Cup here in May and his trainer is very astute in these big handicaps.

5:35pm – Golden Gates Stakes Handicap (Class 2, 1m2f)

They say variety is the SPYCE of life and Alan King has already saddled a Royal Ascot winner this week, so why not another?

The three-year-old acquitted himself really well in the London Cup at Newbury and I can see him training on again from that effort.

6:10pm – Queen Alexandra Stakes Handicap (Class 2, 2m5f)

Owner Vincent Caldwell apparently said that this race was chosen over a Gold Cup bid specifically because COLOMBUS thrives over marathon trips.

Trainer Willie Mullins has already said that the five-year-old is considered a strong each-way contender for this race, and he certainly knows how to win it, having scored with Sober last year.
