Mark Selby vs Ricky Walden

Meeting for the first time since 2023, Ricky Walden is a clear underdog for this duel with Mark Selby. The Jester from Leicester was a champion at the China Open and finished as the runner-up at the British Open.

Walden, who is ranked 57th in the world, made the third round at the English Open 12 months ago, but he’s not been a real contender at ranking events since making three semi-finals in 2021/22.

Selby should wrap this up pretty quickly. We’re backing the two-time champion to cover the spread.

Judd Trump vs Jordan Brown

Judd Trump’s two previous matches against Jordan Brown have been won emphatically. Brown has already had two defeats without winning a frame this season and has won only six of his 13 matches to date.

There’s very little track record of Brown even being competitive in ranking events, aside from last year’s Northern Ireland Open. The win at the Welsh Open is several years ago, and Brown has seldom come close to replicating those levels.

Trump won the Shanghai Masters and has two previous titles at the English Open. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him win this without dropping a frame.

Stuart Bingham vs Anthony McGill

Stuart Bingham has a 5-2 record against Anthony McGill. The last two meetings have gone to deciding frames, with Bingham winning 5-4 against McGill at the World Open earlier this year.

It’s not been the best start to the season for McGill, including a 4-0 defeat to Jak Jones at the British Open. Bingham has endured several of his own disappointments outside of a run to the semis at the China Open.

Recent meetings have been well-matched. More of the same is expected on Tuesday.
