Ali Carter vs Mark Williams Prediction

Ali Carter blew Ding Junhui away in his semi-final to set up a meeting with Mark Williams in the final. Williams came from 5-1 down to see off Shaun Murphy in the last four, and he will now look for his 21st win over Carter in their 41st match.

Carter has won the last three matches between the pair, including a 6-5 win at the 2025 Shanghai Masters. Good form is required to reach a final, but these two are particularly red-hot at the moment with Carter registering 10 breaks of 70 or more over his last two matches.

Williams was a rank outsider when he was 5-1 down to Murphy, but he was clinical when the door was left ajar. It’s the lefty’s first ranking final since the Shenzhen Open last season. Carter, meanwhile, hasn’t appeared in a ranking final since the Championship League in 2024/25.

There have been ebbs and flows in Williams’ matches throughout this tournament. Carter has been playing some great snooker, though, so we think he’s going to edge this one.
