Madrid Open Semi Finals: Top Two Seeds Set To Advance To Showpiece?
The 2026 Madrid Open has been a tournament full of surprises and William Hill News tipster Sam Cox gives his best bets and predictions ahead of the men’s semi-finals.
Madrid Open Tips – Semi Finals:
- Jannik Sinner to win 2-1 (11/4)
- Alexander Blockx +3.5 games (Evens)
The top two seeds have reached the last four of the Madrid Open, but that’s not to say it’s been a predictable tournament. Arthur Fils and Alexander Blockx have defied the odds to make the final four.
Here are our tennis betting tips for Friday’s contests:
Jannik Sinner vs Arthur Fils
It shouldn’t be that surprising that Fils has made the semis. He won in Barcelona and made deep runs at Indian Wells and Miami. The Frenchman made light work Jiří Lehečka in the quarters.
Jannik Sinner’s winning streak keeps growing and there are no signs of it ending any time soon. It would take an off-day from the Italian, paired with Fils continuing his elite level of play, for Sinner’s run to come to an end.
It’s not out of the question with how great Fils has been in recent weeks. He’s deservedly surged in the rankings and has the game to at least make Sinner sweat in the Madrid heat on Friday afternoon.
Alexander Blockx vs Alexander Zverev
Blockx has been the breakout performer of the 2026 Madrid Open. A straight-sets win over Casper Ruud in the semis followed wins over Félix Auger-Aliassime, Francisco Cerúndolo, and Brandon Nakashima.
The Monte Carlo Masters was the first time Blockx has reached the third round of an ATP 1000 event. The 21-year-old has won four titles on the Challenger Tour, but this is still a far better showing than anyone could have reasonably expected.
Alexander Zverev has won four of his seven Masters titles on clay. The German is a perennial contender at this time of year, but he’s not been at his sharpest in Madrid.
