Cincinnati Open Predictions: Best Bets for Thursday 20th August 2026
Thursday sees the start of the Cincinnati Open quarterfinals ahead of Saturday’s semifinals. Here are William Hill’s top tennis betting picks.
Cincinnati Open Predictions Thursday:
- Flavio Cobolli to win (13/10)
- Arthur Fils to win 2-0 (17/20)
- Jessica Pegula to win (4/5)
- Elena Rybakina to win 2-1 (19/5)
Tommy Paul vs. Flavio Cobolli
All three of Tommy Paul’s matches have gone the distance, including his come-from-behind win over Alexander Zverev on Wednesday. Flavio Cobolli has also played nine sets so far and had an impressive win against Rafael Jódar in the quarters.
This is an improbable matchup in the first quarterfinal. Paul is in only his second Masters quarter-final since the Italian Open last year, while Cobolli is aiming to make his first-ever ATP 1000 semi-final.
Cobolli won the previous meeting back in 2024 and has come on leaps and bounds since then. The Italian was short of form coming into this event, but he’s got value here.
Thiago Agustín Tirante vs. Arthur Fils
The second quarter of the draw featured Novak Djokovic, Jakub Menšík, Jiří Lehečka, and Alex De Minaur. It is Arthur Fils and Thiago Agustín Tirante who meet in Thursday’s quarter-final, however.
Tirante accounted for Djokovic and Menšík. Fils dug deep to see off Lehečka before a strong showing in a straight sets win over De Minaur. The result is a first-ever meeting between the 25-year-old Argentine and the Frenchman.
Fils, who won in Barcelona and has reached the quarters or better in four Masters events this year, is rightly the clear favourite. He’s got a real chance of going all the way in Cincinnati.
Amanda Anisimova vs. Jessica Pegula
Amanda Anisimova has played Jessica Pegula five times. She’s lost all five matches, including two this year. Anisimova has forced a third set in three of those matches, though, and she’s coming off impressive wins over Alexandra Eala and Linda Nosková.
This is the first time Anisimova has won three matches at an event since Dubai in February. That also ended with a defeat to Pegula, who is far more accustomed to competing in the latter stages.
It’s surprising to see Pegula’s odds at 4/5 for this match given her dominance over Anisimova.
Iga Świątek vs. Elena Rybakina
Is Iga Świątek back to her best? The Pole beat Elena Rybakina, Elina Svitolina, and Marta Kostyuk en route to the Canadian Open title and has been pretty dominant through her first three matches in Cincinnati.
Rybakina also appears to have regained form. The Kazakh star hasn’t dropped a set in this tournament and looks incredibly formidable on the hard courts, as she did earlier this year.
Rybakina had the upper hand over Świątek at last year’s WTA Finals and the Australian Open. This is a tantalising matchup that should go deep.
