Italian Open 2026: Sinner Heads Super Saturday In Rome
William Hill tipster Sam Cox previews Saturday’s biggest matches at the 2026 Italian Open, with Jannik Sinner looking to take another step forward on his quest to rewrite the history books.
With rain disrupting the first couple of rounds of the Italian Open, Saturday promises to be a packed day. Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka, and Coco Gauff are three of the stars in action.
Italian Open Predictions Today:
- Jannik Sinner -6.5 games (4/6)
- Daniil Medvedev to win (8/13)
- Aryna Sabalenka -5.5 games (10/11)
- Solana Sierra +6.5 games
Here are four of our top tennis betting tips:
Jannik Sinner vs Sebastian Ofner
Aiming to become just the second player to win all nine Masters tournaments, Sinner is looking to continue his phenomenal run this weekend. The Italian has been imperious over the last few months, with five consecutive Masters titles to his name.
Sebastian Ofner made light work for Alex Michelsen in the first round. The 29-year-old Austrian is facing Sinner for the first time in his career and has hardly been in the most impressive form, despite a couple of early-season wins on the Challenger Tour.
This is a complete mismatch, like so many of Sinner’s matches turn out to be.
Tomáš Macháč vs Daniil Medvedev
An emphatic win over Stefanos Tsitsipas sets up a second round duel with Daniil Medvedev for Tomáš Macháč. Macháč has lost his two previous meetings with Medvedev, but the pair haven’t matched up since the 2024 French Open.
Since reaching the final in Indian Wells, Medvedev has disappointed in Miami, Monte Carlo, and Madrid. Macháč has had pretty mixed results since winning in Adelaide earlier this year.
We fancy Medvedev to find some form in this one and record a much-needed win.
Aryna Sabalenka vs Sorana Cîrstea
Sorana Cîrstea has a 1-2 record against Aryna Sabalenka. The pair have only met once since the start of 2024, though, which ended in a straight sets Sabalenka win in Brisbane earlier this year.
A shock defeat to Hailey Baptiste in Madrid ended Sabalenka’s run of five consecutive finals. It was also a reminder that she is more vulnerable on clay than hard courts.
Cîrstea plays her best tennis on clay. An impressive win over Tatjana Maria isn’t enough to suggest she can live with Sabalenka here.
Coco Gauff vs Solana Sierra
It was an easy enough route for both players to get this far. Solana Sierra is at her most comfortable on clay, with a winning percentage above 71%. The Argentine made her first-ever WTA 1000 fourth round in Madrid.
Coco Gauff reached the final in Miami, but hasn’t quite got to grips with the clay courts yet. Early exits in Stuttgart and Madrid put pressure on the young American to go on a deep run here in preparation for the French Open.
Sierra’s showing in Madrid and her strong start in this event indicate she can at least make Gauff work for this victory.
