US Open Betting Tips: Carlos Alcaraz Heads Tuesday’s Best Bets

| BY Sam Cox

The eyes of the tennis world are on the US Open on Tuesday and William Hill News preview the best of the tennis betting action – with some big names taking to the court.

US Open Predictions Today:

  • France Tiafoe -2.5 games (10/11)
  • Carlos Alcaraz to win and both players to win a set (23/20)
  • Aryna Sabalenka to win 2-0 (6/5)
  • Jessica Pegula to win 2-0 (17/20)

Frances Tiafoe vs Alex Michelsen Prediction

Alex Michelsen has gone under the radar en route to a first Grand Slam quarter-final appearance. Michelsen is the only player in the men’s draw yet to drop a set, and his reward is a matchup with compatriot and two-time semifinalist Frances Tiafoe.

Tiafoe is 2-0 against Michelsen, with both of those wins coming in straight sets. The US Open marks the first ATP Tour event that Michelsen has won three matches at since Miami earlier this year. Tiafoe, in contrast, was a finalist in Cincinnati.

Tiafoe’s form has been mightily impressive since his first-round scare. We’re backing him to get through this one and set up a blockbuster semi-final matchup.

Ben Shelton vs Carlos Alcaraz Prediction

Prepare for a raucous atmosphere. Carlos Alcaraz, adored by the New York fans, faces a home favourite in Ben Shelton under the lights on Tuesday night in a battle for a semi-final berth.

Alcaraz has won all three of the previous meetings, dropping a lone set in the process. Shelton dropped sets in each of his first three matches, but saw off Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. The American won his first Masters title in Montreal before a first-round exit in Cincinnati.

Alcaraz looks to have played through any rust. He’s still not quite at his very best, but he should have too much for Shelton.

Aryna Sabalenka vs Linda Nosková Prediction

What a quarter-final this is. The world number one and defending US Open champion takes on the Wimbledon champion in the opening match of Tuesday’s singles slate, with the betting markets making Aryna Sabalenka a clear favourite over Linda Nosková.

Nosková is searching for her first set against Sabalenka. The most recent of the wins came at Indian Wells earlier this year, but it’s fair to say Sabalenka has not been as formidable since then.

The first four rounds have been won comfortably by the world’s top-ranked player, but Nosková also impressed against Marta Kostyuk, but she’s not beaten a top 20 player on a hard court in almost 12 months.

Jessica Pegula vs Emma Navarro Prediction

Jessica Pegula has a 4-0 record against Emma Navarro, including a straight sets win in Cincinnati. It’s been a professional run to the last eight for Pegula, aside from an aberration of a first set against Leylah Fernandez.

Navarro battled through her first two matches before knocking out higher-seeded players in the third and fourth rounds. It’s been a quiet couple of years, but the Charleston resident was a semifinalist at the US Open in 2024.

This has been a highly surprising run from Navarro. Pegula has been playing well enough to win her first Slam.
