US Open Predictions Today: 6/5 & 5/2 Picks Among Wednesday’s Best Tennis Bets

| BY Sam Cox

A look ahead to Wednesday’s action at the 2026 US Open, with our tipster previewing and analysing the best tennis betting selections on 9th September.

US Open Betting Tips Today:

  • Match to go to a final set (5/2)
  • Botic van de Zandschulp to win a set (4/5)
  • Elena Rybakina -4.5 games (6/5)
  • Coco Gauff -3.5 games (10/11)

Karen Khachanov vs Alexander Blockx Prediction

Experience meets an ascendant young talent in Wednesday’s first men’s match. Karen Khachanov has beaten Félix Auger-Aliassime and Learner Tien to reach the last eight. Alexander Blockx had to overcome leg and back issues to see off Francisco Cerúndolo.

These are uncharted territories for Blockx, who was an unknown name a matter of months ago. Khachanov didn’t bring good form into the US Open, but he’s got hot during the tournament and won’t be spooked by the bright lights.

Don’t be surprised if this continues the quarter-final trend and goes the distance.

Alexander Zverev vs Botic van de Zandschulp Prediction

Carlos Alcaraz’s exit on Tuesday presents a golden opportunity for Alexander Zverev to win his second Grand Slam of the year. The German is facing an unseeded player in Botic van de Zandschulp and could reach a Slam final without facing a player inside the world’s top 20.

It would be foolish to write of van de Zandschulp. He’s reached the last eight of a Slam before and he’s beaten Daniil Medvedev and Luciano Darderi in recent memory. Zverev also made hard work of his first two rounds, so it’s not like he’s playing at his absolute best.

Yes, Zverev is rightly the heavy favourite, but don’t be surprised if the Dutchman gives him a bit of a scare.

Qinwen Zheng vs Elena Rybakina Prediction

Both of these players won in extraordinary fashion in the last round. Qinwen Zheng, after overturning a 5-0 deficit to Madison Keys in the final set, came back from 5-0 down in the first set to beat Iga Świątek. Elena Rybakina made light work of a much-hyped matchup with Naomi Osaka, blowing away the former champion 6-1, 6-4.

Rybakina becomes the world number one if she wins this match. She’s already beaten Zheng twice this year, though needed three sets on both occasions. It’s been a remarkable run from Zheng after a difficult 18 months, and she will surely believe she can cause another upset here.

Rybakina, though, was in magnificent form against Osaka. She’s pretty much unbeatable if she replicates that level.

Mirra Andreeva vs Coco Gauff Prediction

Coco Gauff has a 5-0 record against Mirra Andreeva. It’s notable, however, that they haven’t met on a hard court since the 2023 US Open, when Andreeva was only 16 years old.

Gauff has been imperious so far. Yet to drop a set, she’s a deserving favourite. Andreeva hasn’t been at her very best, but she fought back from a set down to beat Anastasia Potapova in the last round and we know she will be relishing this opportunity.

Andreeva has to find her best form to win this match. Even if she does, that might not be enough with how good Gauff has been.
