French Open Final 2026: Alexander Zverev vs Flavio Cobolli Predictions
William Hill News looks at the 206 French Open men’s final between Alexander Zverev and Flavio Cobolli, with Sam Cox giving his best bets ahead of Sunday’s showpiece clash at Roland Garros.
Alexander Zverev recorded a routine four-set win over Jakub Menšík to book his third career Grand Slam final. Flavio Cobolli didn’t even have to take the court on Friday after Matteo Arnaldi withdrew from their semi-final with a virus.
Alexander Zverev v Flavio Cobolli Odds:
- Flavio Cobolli – 13/5
- Alexander Zverev – 2/7
Cobolli, who beat Zverev in the Bavarian Open earlier this year, is the tennis betting underdog.
- French Open men’s final best bet: Alexander Zverev to win and both players to win a set (5/4)
Wins over Félix Auger-Aliassime and Learner Tien have been the highlights of Cobolli’s run. He had never previously reached the last four of a Grand Slam and now stands three sets away from the title.
This has a whiff of now or never for Zverev. He’s choked on the big stage before and is yet to win a Grand Slam, despite being a fixture in the top five of the world rankings. With Jannik Sinner’s shock exit and Carlos Alcaraz’s injury, this tournament looks to have fallen into Zverev’s lap.
The third set against Menšík was only the second set Zverev has lost in this tournament. There haven’t been any particularly stern tests, with Cobolli representing his trickiest opponent to date.
All four of the previous meetings between these players have come since the start of last year. Zverev has won three of them, including their most recent duel in Madrid. Cobolli, though, has a winning formula after his straight sets win in Munich, and the extra rest surely plays in his favour here.
This won’t be straightforward for Zverev given Cobolli’s form on clay. We’d avoid backing the German to win 3-0, and instead prefer taking Zverev to win and both players to win a set. There’s also the option to take Zverev 3-1 at 11/4.
Who will come out on top on Sunday afternoon and claim the illustrious French Open trophy, plus clinch the bulk of the Roland Garros prize money? Zverev is the clear favourite but this has been a tournament of shocks – could the final throw up another surprise?
