French Open Tips: Best Bets At Roland Garros On Friday

| BY Sam Cox

William Hill News preview the biggest matches at Roland Garros on Friday, with Sam Cox giving his best bets on the French Open action.

Even with Jannik Sinner’s stunning exit, there will definitely be an Italian in the men’s French Open final this weekend. Friday sees the two semi-finals take place, with Alexander Zverev sitting as the heavy betting favourite to win the tournament.

French Open Predictions – Friday 5th June 2026:

  • Flavio Cobolli -4.5 games (10/11)
  • Jakub Menšík +5.5 games (4/5)

With the tournament now at the business end, the battle to lift the illustrious trophy and secure the lucrative Roland Garros prize pot is now hotter than ever. Here are the tennis betting tips for Friday’s matches.

Matteo Arnaldi vs Flavio Cobolli

Ranked outside the top 100 coming into the French Open, Matteo Arnaldi is in his first Grand Slam semi-final against his compatriot Flavio Cobolli. Arnaldi had a commanding lead over Matteo Berrettini on Wednesday night when the veteran was forced to retire.

Cobolli lost a hard-fought first set to Félix Auger-Aliassime, but won the next three to reach his first Grand Slam semi-final. Cobolli was a quarter-finalist in Madrid and reached the final of the Bavarian Open earlier this year, illustrating his pedigree on clay courts.

This is the third meeting between the players. It’s one win apiece, with both matches taking place on clay. Arnaldi’s win came back in 2023, while Cobolli notched his win in the round of 64 at last year’s French Open.

Cobolli is rightly favoured in this one. Arnaldi has impressed to get this far, but this is his sternest test thus far.

Jakub Menšík vs Alexander Zverev

Zverev is under immense pressure. He will never have a better opportunity to win a Grand Slam. Jakub Menšík took the German to three sets on the clay of Madrid earlier this year, and the Czech has played at a very high level throughout the French Open.

Menšík made light work of João Fonseca in the quarters, following marquee wins over Alex de Minaur and Andrey Rublev. What he lacks in experience, he makes up for in fearlessness and can relish being the underdog for this semi-final.

In contrast, expectations are incredibly high for Zverev. He’s blown chances to win Slams before. His quarter-final performance was strong, but the power of Menšík’s form shows he’s a real threat here.
