A Right Royal Franking - Ascot day one betting from William Hill
Royal Ascot 2012 will kick off in style when the World's greatest racehorse - Frankel - opens proceedings in the Queen Anne Stakes, as the day one entries were published on Wednesday.
Sir Henry Cecil's star is a smouldering 1-5 favourite with William Hill to stretch his unbeaten tally to 11 with success in the first Group One of the premier Berkshire meeting, and 1-2 to complete the season with his unblemished reputation intact.
Hills also make the son of Galileo 1-2 to record a greater winning distance than Black Caviar in Saturday's Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
William Hill spokeswoman Lucy Rhodes said "Frankel has been backed despite his prohibitive odds, and with Sir Cecil's superstar expected to be a day-one slam-dunk for the punters he'll no doubt be a firm feature to kick off many multiples across the land"
Roger Charlton's Bated Breath and Aussie raider Ortensia share 9-2 favouritism for a cosmopolitan King's Stand, with the French-trained Wizz Kid, who has been the best-backed in the last week, quoted at 11-2.
