Golden Day Predicted Once Again For GB
With three potential gold medals up for grabs for GB on Saturday in the rowing, William Hill offer 9/2 that they win all three. They are favourites for all three races and odds on for two. The flagship boat in this Games is the men's four and GB make them 8/13 to win gold, while the women's double is 1/2. The men's lightweight double of Mark Hunter and Zac Purchase have overtaken pre-Olympic favourites New Zealand to be 7/4 market leaders.
"GB have had a fantastic time so far at Eton Dorney and Saturday looks as though it will be the crowning glory," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Mo Farah is set to have a very good London 2012 as he heads up the betting to take the Men's 10,000m crown on Saturday. He is the 11/8 favourite ahead of Ethiopa's Kenensisa Bekelele at 10/3. He is 4/1 to win two gold medals at the Games in both the 5 and the 10.
Heading to the field events, Greg Rutherford remains a very realistic gold hopeful for Team GB in the long jump and finds himself at 7/2 second favourite to win the event just behind Australian Mitchell Watt at 3/1.
Great Britain's Helen Jenkins goes into the women's Triathlon as favourite at 6/4 with William Hill but she has some dangerous competitors looking to chase her with Australia's Erin Densham, Switzerland's Nicola Spirig and Canada's Paula Findley all 6/1 chances for gold.
