Bookies bashed by Button's Belgian bonanza
Jenson Button won the Belgian Grand Prix to move within 63 points of the Championship lead and William Hill make him 25/1 to win the Drivers this season, although the favourite is Fernando Alonso who is 6/5.
Button moved to within 16 points of Lewis Hamilton and Hills make him 6/4 to finish ahead of his McLaren teammate for the second season in a row (1/2 not to).
The result was a shocker for Hills who suffered their biggest payout of the F1 season so far with one lucky punter from Manchester having £10,000 on the Brit driver at 11/8.
"Whenever a British driver dominates a race weekend from start to finish, they obviously get backed off the boards and that is exactly what happened with Button this weekend," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Drivers Championship: 6/5 Fernando Alonso; 11/4 Sebastian Vettel; 6/1 Kimi Raikkonen; 7/1 Lewis Hamilton; 12/1 ark Webber; 25/1 Jenson Button; 150/1 BAR
Button/Hamilton season match bet: 1/2 Hamilton; 6/4 Button
