Hull are looking for big Willie inspiration
Round seven of the Super League sees high flying Huddersfield travel to a Hull KR side who are still waiting for 'big Willie' inspiration.
The big Australian forward, Willie Mason, was largely absent as his team lost to Salford City last week and he is backable at 33/1 to lead from the front and score the first try. The pressure will be felt even more as Rovers are still struggling for leadership due to the absence of scrum-half Michael Dobson.
Despite having only won twice this season, Hull are by no means underdogs for this tie and they are currently priced at 13/10 for the clash. You can get 4/7 about an away victory while the draw is a big price at 18/1.
The sides last met at Galpharm Stadium last season and a Brett Hodgson penalty late on secured a share of the spoils for Huddersfield as it finished 16-16.
Giants' Jermaine McGilvary has been on fire so far this season, the winger has managed five tries in his last six matches for Huddersfield and Hills have him priced at 9/1 to be the first tryscorer.
Both teams were defeated last week, Hull dropped an 18-0 lead to eventually lose 34-18 as all the furore surrounding the acquisition of Mason died out. Huddersfield barely put up a fight at home to Wigan, The Giants were on the wrong end of a 20-6 scoreline in front of their home support.
Despite failing to even break the 10 point barrier last week, William Hill have priced up the Giants at 4/5 to be the first to put 10 points on the board. If, like last week, Hull can get off to a strong start you can get 10/11 for them to win the race to 10 points.
The Giants have been starting well this season and if you fancy bigger odds than the 4/7 for them to win overall you can back them at 13/10 to be leading at half time and go on to win the match.
William Hill are expecting a close encounter here as the visitors are only 4 point favourites at a price of 10/11. If you agree with this consensus but are after a bigger price then you might be interested in the winning margins market. To win by a margin of 1-5 points, Huddersfield are 9/2 while Hull are 5/1.
Blake Green has scored five tries this season for Hull and William Hill are offering a special 'Match Winner' price of 5/2 for Green to score anytime and Hull to win. If you are a Huddersfield fan and expect your side to win then you can back Kevin Brown to score anytime coupled with a Giants win at 5/2 in the second of our 'Match Winner' specials.
With both sides being somewhat erratic in recent weeks this will be hard to call but I expect Huddersfield to get off to a quick start which is why I would back them to win the race to 10 points at 10/11.
