Sandown Horse Racing Tips Today – Friday 5th December 2025

Sandown Park Best Bets Jumps Final Day

Two days of top class Jump racing at Sandown Park, kicks off with a pulsating six-race card on the Friday, headlined by the Grade 2 Winter Novices’ Hurdle over two and a half miles.

One day later, Tingle Creek Saturday features two Grade 1 races on the card – the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase and The Tingle Creek Chase.

Without further ado, I’ve gone through all six races at Sandown on Friday and here are my selections.

12.35pm – 2m Introductory Juvenile Hurdle (Class 2) (3yo)

With the Alan King stable finally looking like it’s beginning to get into the groove this jumps season, the speculative each-way pick in our horse racing betting at this fixture is KING AL.

The Al Kazeem-gelding has had a steady season on the flat, racing well over a mile and moreover, over 1m2f. His breeding suggests that he should blessed with stamina, so a successful hurdles campaign is not beyond the realms of possibility.

1.10pm – 2m Handicap Chase (Class 3) (4yo+ 0-130)

The three unexposed horses haven’t offered much encouragement in their recent runs, and preference is for the established KEEP RUNNING.

All his wins have been right-handed, so his second on hurdles reappearance at Fontwell (predictably hanging) was quite decent given how tightly left-handed that track is. Coup de Coeur has a similar profile, but his stable has only ever had one Sandown winner.

1.45pm – 2m4f Winter Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2) (4yo+)

All five of these promising young horses won on hurdles debut and to an extent you pays yer money and takes yer choice.

TORMUND GIANTSBANE bounded up the stiff Carlisle hill in great style and might be a bit of value against the hot favourite No Drama This End.

2.20pm – 3m Esher Novices’ Chase (Grade 2) (4yo+)

Jamie Snowden and Gavin Sheehan have an excellent strike rate together and LAURENS BAY can step up to the plate in this Grade 2 chase.

The six-year-old may have only beaten one rival on his chase debut at Uttoxeter, but he jumped fluently throughout and can hold his own in this line-up.

2.55pm – 3m Handicap Chase  (Class 3) (4yo+ 0-135)

This is an open, competitive handicap chase. Champagne Twist and Hidden History are closely matched on Aintree form, but NEW ORDER has stamina to burn in his pedigree and may well improve on only his third career run over 3 miles.

Keep an eye on In d’Or too, having his first run since being bought for £220,000 at the David Maxwell dispersal sale – any market support for him might be significant .

3.30pm – 2m Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) (4yo 0-120)

The lucky last can go the way of Jamie Snowden’s MARCHE D’ALIGRE who I was fortunate enough to see run in person 20 days ago at Wetherby.

The four-year-old was unlucky to run into the current Wetherby specialist Saligo Bay, and the race will have put the 121-rated hurdler absolutely spot on for this contest. Take a look at our sports betting to find out his current price.
