The round of 16 at the Indian Wells Open takes place across Tuesday and Wednesday, with many of the world’s best players involved.

Here are our tennis betting picks:

Carlos Alcaraz vs Casper Ruud

After losing a first-set tiebreak, Carlos Alcaraz won the next two sets against Arthur Rinderknech to progress to the round of 16. He meets Casper Ruud, who also came back from a set down to see off Valentin Vacherot.

While Alcaraz has a 5-1 record against Ruud all-time, the Norwegian has tended to push the Spaniard. Alcaraz has only one straight sets win in their last four meetings, and had to come back from a set down to win in their last clash.

We think Ruud can give Alcaraz a scare here, though it’s too big an ask to cause an upset against the world number one.

Pick: Carlos Alcaraz to win 2-1

Jannik Sinner vs Joao Fonseca

Jannik Sinner has lost a grand total of seven games across his first two matches at Indian Wells. Joao Fonseca, though, is playing high-level tennis with a win over Karen Khachanov followed by a straight sets win against Tommy Paul.

Fonesca didn’t start the year well with early losses in Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires. This is only his fourth career contest against a top 10 player – the Brazilian is 1-2 so far.

There have been positive signs for Fonseca, but beating Sinner is a step too far.

Pick: Jannik Sinner -5.5 games (10/11)

Aryna Sabalenka vs Naomi Osaka

Aryna Sabalenka’s only defeats since mid October were in the final of the WTA Finals and the Australian Open final. She began her Indian Wells journey with a pair of routine wins over inferior opponents.

Naomi Osaka needed three sets to beat Camila Osorio in the round of 32. Osaka hasn’t reached the semi finals of any event since the US Open.

This looks like an easy win for Sabalenka. There’s a chasm between these players at the moment.

Pick: Aryna Sabalenka to win 2-0 (1/2)

Victoria Mboko vs Amanada Anisimova

After losing her opening set of the tournament to Anna Blinkova, Amanda Anisimova has won her next four sets while dropping just three games. Blinkova and Emma Raducanu had no answer for the American.

Victoria Mboko hasn’t won her matches quite as emphatically, though she’s yet to drop a set. The young Canadian has some impressive wins already in 2026 and reached the final in Qatar.

This looks like the most well-matched contest in the round of 16. We expect it to go three sets.

Pick: Both players to win a set (6/4)
