Cincinnati Open Predictions: Best Bets for Saturday 22nd August 2026
Saturday sees the semifinals of the Cincinnati Open take place. Here are William Hill’s top tennis betting picks ahead of the action.
Cincinnati Open Predictions Saturday:
- Flavio Cobolli +3.5 games (17/20)
- Brandon Nakashima to win (17/20)
- Iga Świątek to win 2-0 (11/10)
- Coco Gauff to win 2-0 (4/5)
Flavio Cobolli vs Arthur Fils Prediction
Flavio Cobolli is the clear betting underdog, despite being 11 spots higher in the rankings. The Italian has beaten Rafael Jódar and Tommy Paul to get to this stage and has experience of high-pressure matches in recent months.
Arthur Fils has beaten two higher-seeded players already. He’s got three wins against top 10 opponents in 2026, and this is his third Masters semi-final of the year.
It’s understandable that Fils is favoured given his record this year. Still, there’s got to be some value backing Cobolli to at least make this competitive.
Brandon Nakashima vs Frances Tiafoe Prediction
Despite winning six of his seven matches against Brandon Nakashima, Frances Tiafoe is a slight underdog for this semi-final. Nakashima has seen off Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz.
Tiafoe has had a couple of notable wins of his own, with Lorenzo Musetti and Félix Auger-Aliassime falling to the 28-year-old.
These players had starkly contrasting form heading into this event. Nakashima had impressive showings on Montreal and Washington and should edge this one. Don’t worry too much about the head-to-head – only three of those meetings have been since 2022 and Nakashima has 1-2 record in that period.
Iga Świątek vs Jessica Pegula Prediction
Meeting for a 13th time, Iga Świątek has a 7-5 record against Jessica Pegula, including a 6-1, 6-2 win on Rome’s clay earlier this year. Świątek only had to play five games in the quarters thanks to Elena Rybakina’s retirement, while Pegula had a hard-fought win over Amanda Anisimova.
Interestingly, the last four matches between these players have been decided in straight sets. They have two wins apiece over that period, so it reflects how quickly things can go in one direction if a player gets on top.
Świątek’s form has been spectacular. Looking back to her best, we wouldn’t be surprised if she blew Pegula away.
Sára Bejlek vs. Coco Gauff Prediction
What a breakout performance this has been from Sára Bejlek. The 20-year-old has seen off Aryna Sabalenka, Madison Keys, Barbora Krejčíková, and Ekaterina Alexandrova to set up a semi-final meeting with Coco Gauff on Saturday.
This is the first time Gauff will face Bejlek. The American only dropped four games in an emphatic win over Marta Kostyuk to make it three one-sided victories in a row. She is gunning for a third WTA 1000 final of the year.
It’s hard not to be in awe of what Bejlek has achieved, and it sets her up well for the remainder of the season. Gauff’s form means she’s the player to back here, though.
