Nathan Aspinall has won three of his last four matches against Ryan Joyce, but it’s notable that Joyce has seen off Michael van Gerwen and beaten Danny Noppert 3-0 in this event.

Aspinall, a quarter-finalist in Antwerp and a 10-9 loser to Luke Littler in the second round of the World Series Finals, is heavily favoured by the bookies for this one.

Joyce has played at a high level so far in this tournament, so we think he can be competitive.

Gerwyn Price vs Jonny Clayton Prediction

A rematch of the World Series semi-final, Jonny Clayton is looking for revenge over his compatriot Gerwyn Price after the latter won 11-7. Clayton, though, had won the three previous meetings, including an 8-4 win in the New Zealand Masters in August.

Coming into this event, Price had lost the World Series final to Ross Smith after losing to the same opponent in the Flanders Darts Trophy. Clayton withdrew from Antwerp.

It’s understandable that Price is heavily favoured in sports betting markets here but write Clayton off at your peril. Don’t be surprised if he takes this the distance.

Gian van Veen vs James Wade Prediction

Gian van Veen has won both of his matches against James Wade in the last 12 months. Wade’s form is strong, though, with a title in Antwerp and a quarter-final appearance in the World Series Finals.

Van Veen needed a deciding set to beat Ryan Searle in the last round, while Wade overcame Stephen Bunting 2-1.

This promises to be a tight contest between two in-form men.
