Vienna Open Winner Tips 2026: Medvedev Worth Considering At 7/1

Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz are the tennis betting favourites for the 2026 Vienna Open.

Four other members of the top 10 – Daniil Medvedev, Flavio Cobolli, Alex de Minaur, and Frances Tiafoe – are also taking part in the event. Defending champion Jannik Sinner remains sidelined through injury. Alexander Blockx also withdrew.

The Field

Zverev and Alcaraz are joined by four other players in the top 10 of the world rankings. Jakub Menšík, who beat Ben Shelton last month, and Tommy Paul, a quarter-finalist in 2026 Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes at the time of writing, round out the seeds.

It’s obviously hard to look past the top two here. It would be foolish to focus exclusively on Alcaraz and Zverev, though, seeing as Zverev lost to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in Shanghai and Alcaraz suffered a surprise loss to Zizou Bergs after winning in Tokyo.

Zverev is avoiding Novak Djokovic and Fokina, the two most recent players to beat him, but he could face De Minaur, who got the better of the world number one in the Laver Cup.

Vienna Open Predictions

Medvedev (7/1) is a player to keep an eye on. He controversially lost to Djokovic in Beijing, but he won in Hangzhou and had wins over an in-form Stefanos Tsitsipas and Tommy Paul in Shanghai. He’s preparing for this competition in Almaty, where he the top seed.

Four straight losses mean bettors don’t need to think too much about Cobolli. De Minaur, aside from the win over Zverev in the Laver Cup, has a middling recent record. He’s not beaten another top 20 player since Hamburg in May.

Menšík has shown us he can beat the world’s best, including an indoor win over Shelton in the Davis Cup. The Czech is a worthwhile longshot to make the final in Vienna. Paul’s win over Zverev in Cincinnati is something to consider, too.
