Mexico Open Golf Betting Tips 2026: 28/1 Each Way Fancies Amongst Our Best Bets

| BY Sam Cox

Wyndham Clark is the clear golf betting favourite for the 2026 Mexico Open ahead of Ben James and Doug Ghim.

Defending champion Brian Campbell is a rank outsider at 200/1. Americans have won the last three editions of this event.

Mexico Open Best Bets

  • Tom Kim to win (14/1 Each Way 10 Places)
  • Max Homa to win (28/1 Each Way 10 Places)
  • Kristoffer Ventura (28/1 Each Way 10 Places)
  • Tom Kim or Doug Ghim To Win (9/1)

Doug Ghim and Tom Kim are the field leaders in strokes gained tee-to-green over the last three months. Both golfers are in exceptional form, with a string of top 20 finishes.

Kim struggled mightily early in the year, but his third at the US Open was followed by a win in the Scottish Open and a fifth at the Wyndham Championship. Despite not being a particularly long driver, the Korean gets more than enough distance and is one of the best approach players in the world.

Ghim is a well-rounded golfer. He’s longer off the tee than Kim. His approach play can come and go, but if he’s anything like he was with iron in hand at the Wyndham Championship, he’s got a real chance.

Max Homa looks to have found form at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Bank of Utah Championship, and the Baycurrent Classic. Homa played well at this time of year in 2025, and a lack of driver accuracy shouldn’t be too problematic.

Kristoffer Ventura has been playing some of his best golf in 2026. His recent form is mixed, but the underlying numbers are encouraging. His distance off the tee is a good sign at this course, and he’s had success on similar tracks. Long approach shots are a feature of the Mexico Open – Ventura is comfortable taking them on.

The Course

Vidanta Vallarta is staging the Mexico Open for the fifth time. Designed by Greg Norman, it’s got stunning views along Ameca River and water is a factor in as many as 14 holes.

Yardage has been reduced by 99 since the last edition of the Mexico Open. With wide fairways and limited rough, big hitters are definitely favoured, with strokes gained tee-to-green the most indicative statistic in past tournaments.

There are more than 100 bunkers throughout the course, which guard the greens throughout. Learn more about how to bet on golf in our informative guide at William Hill.

Form

Tony Finau is a previous winner, finished as runner-up in 2022, and tied for 13th in 2024. Debutants have had a fair amount of success on this course, while Patrick Rodgers has three top 10s and a 25th in his four appearances at Vidanta Vallarta.

With four top 20s in his last five events, Tom Kim is the form man in this field. He’s priced at 18/1 to win the event and ranks second among all competitors in strokes gained tee-to-green.

Doug Ghim has five straight top 20 finishes, including a runner-up placing at the Bank of Utah Championship. Kristoffer Ventura hasn’t had great results, but he’s one of the leaders in the field in strokes gained off the tee over the last three months and ranks in the top 10 in strokes gained tee to green.
