Darts European Championship Predictions: 7/1 Treble Heads Saturday’s Best Bets In Dortmund
Here are today’s best darts betting picks from the European Championship, with William Hill News previewing the best of the action at the oche on Saturday.
Darts European Championship Betting Tips Today:
- Gian van Veen -1.5 (Evens)
- Damon Heta +1.5 (Evens)
- Nathan Aspinall +4.5 (8/11)
Gian van Veen vs Luke Woodhouse Tips
Gian van Veen and Luke Woodhouse are the eighth and ninth seeds for the European Championship, respectively. Van Veen beat Andrew Gilding 6-4 in the first round, while Woodhouse notched a 6-3 win over Dirk van Duijvenbode.
It’s been a good season for van Veen to date, who was the runner-up at the World Championship and reached the semis of the World Masters and World Matchplay. Woodhouse hasn’t reached a ranking semi-final since this event two years ago, and he didn’t set the world alight in Maasport Den Bosch.
Van Veen is rightly favoured here. He should get this done pretty comfortably.
Ross Smith vs Damon Heta Tips
It’s not a surprise that top seed Ross Smith is heavily favoured over Damon Heta. Heta did beat James Wade in the first round, though, so he should be taken seriously in the sports betting market here.
Heta hasn’t made much noise in ranking events so far this season, but he’s been a force on the European Tour. Smith’s form over the last few months is pretty hit and miss.
Don’t be surprised if the underdog gives Smith a bit of a scare.
Nathan Aspinall vs Luke Littler Tips
This is the pick of Saturday’s matches. Nathan Aspinall and Luke Littler easily saw off Cristo Reyes and William O’Connor in the first round, respectively.
Familiar foes, Littler has won 16 of the 19 previous contests. Aspinall was a semi-finalist at the World Grand Prix and the seemingly unstoppable Littler suffered a surprise first-round exit in the event.
Of course, that result is very much an anomaly given Littler’s dominance in ranking events. It does at least suggest there’s some vulnerability there, so maybe it’s worth backing Aspinall to be relatively competitive.
