General Election Odds: Reform And Labour Now Joint-Favourites After Andy Burnham Wins By-Election
Labour have caught up with Reform UK in the General Election betting market following Andy Burnham’s Makerfield by-election victory last night, according to William Hill News.
Labour were 15/8 to win the most seats the next time the UK public go to the polls, but are now 13/8 in the betting. Reform now hold the same odds, having been marginal 6/4 favourites yesterday.
UK General Election Odds:
Punters can bet on the winner of the next General Election at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:
- Labour – 13/8
- Reform UK – 13/8
- Conservatives – 9/2
- Restore Britain – 8/1
- Greens – 16/1
- Bar – 40/1
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Andy Burnham’s comprehensive victory in yesterday’s Makerfield by-election now puts Labour neck-and-neck with Reform UK for who will win the next General Election.
“Both parties now hold odds of 13/8 to form the next government in what was already a tightly contested market, with Labour coming in from 15/8 yesterday.”
Next Prime Minister Odds:
Punters can bet on the next Prime Minister after Keir Starmer at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:
- Andy Burnham – 1/12
- Ed Miliband – 22/1
- Angela Rayner – 25/1
- Wes Streeting – 25/1
- Nigel Farage – 25/1
- Bar – 28/1
Meanwhile, the markets suggest Andy Burnham is the biggest threat to Nigel Farage’s route to Downing Street. Burnham is now 1/12 to become the next PM, suggesting he will be in charge of Labour by the time the next General Election comes round.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “All signs point to Burnham becoming the next Prime Minister too – he’s our overwhelming 1/12 favourite for the job, way ahead of Ed Miliband (22/1).
“Wes Streeting is priced at 25/1 to be next PM, with the market suggesting the former Health Secretary has little chance of halting Burnham’s run to oust Keir Starmer from No10.”
