French Open quarter-final betting tips: featuring Djokovic and Swiatek

William Hill have selected four French Open betting tips for the men’s and women’s quarter finals.

Among the predictions are an underdog winner, a classic battle between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic and a comfortable win predicted for the 2020 Women’s Champion, all at reasonably enticing odds.

French Open betting tips: Novak Djokovic to beat Rafael Nadal and over 37.5 games @ 5/2

Novak Djokovic is starting to look back to his imperious best, going nine matches unbeaten since losing in the final of the Madrid Open.

The two-time French Open Champion has swept through the early rounds without losing a set and comes into this heavy-weight clash with Rafael Nadal the fresher player.

Nadal leads 7-2 in their head-to-head meetings at Roland Garros, but the score is closer in their four more recent meetings and stands at two wins each.

Djokovic is the 2/5 favourite to win this contest, but Nadal never goes down without a fight, especially on the clay court where he has won 13 French Open titles.

This match looks set to go the distance, meaning there’s a strong chance of more than 37.5 games being played – an average of 7.5 games a set, if it goes to five sets – and with Nadal having a hard five-set tussle with Felix Auger Aliassime in the last round, the fresher Djokovic could take advantage.

French Open betting tips: Marian Cilic to beat Andrey Rublev @ 6/5

Both Andrey Rublev and Marian Cilic have never got beyond the French Open quarter-finals, so this represents an opportunity for both men to record their best result at Roland Garros.

World number seven Rublev comes into the match as the 4/6 favourite after a relatively smooth passage to this stage, which has seen him drop only three sets.

Rublev also holds the upper hand in his past meetings with Cilic, leading 4-2 on past meetings.

However, Cilic will take confidence from having beaten his younger opponent when they last met at the Australian Open and has been in impeccable form so far in this tournament.

The Croatian swept aside number three seed, Rublev’s compatriot, Daniil Medvedev in the last round, winning in straight sets. That should fill him with confidence and he looks the value pick to win again.

French Open betting tips: Iga Swiatek to beat Jessica Pegula and over 19.5 games @ 6/4

2020 French Open Champion and world number one Iga Swiatek is unsurprisingly a strong favourite (1/7) to sweep aside Jessica Pegula on her way to the semi-finals.

The Polish player did show her vulnerability however, when losing the first set to Zheng Qinwen in the last round and her previous meetings with world number one Pegula have been close affairs.

Pegula won their first meeting in three sets in 2019, before Swiatek gained revenge in the 2022 Miami Masters, but still had to work to defeat her opponent 6-2 7-5.

With the chance of progressing to her first Grand Slam semi-final, Pegula is not going to go down easily, and this match could extend to a third set – over 19.5 games – but expect Swiatek to have too much fire power in the end.

Iga Swiatek is through to her third French Open quarter-final in a row

French Open betting tips: Daria Kasatkina to beat Veronika Kudermetova 2-0 @ 11/10

Not much separates these two 25-year-old Russian players in the rankings, with Daria Kasatkina ranked 20 and Veronika Kudermetova number 29 in the world.

They have only met once before, where Kasatkina recovered from losing the first set to go on and win in comfortable fashion in Saint Petersburg.

It’s Kasatkina who has been in better form this tournament so far too, not dropping a set and only losing 14 games in the opening four rounds.

That suggests she is likely to be too strong for Kudermetova and if avoiding a slow start, she could be on for another straight-sets victory.
