French Open Tips Today: Best Bets At Roland Garros On Thursday

| BY Sam Cox

A look at Thursday’s biggest matches at the 2026 French Open, with William Hill News previewing the key fixtures at Roland Garros.

Both world number ones are in action on Thursday, along with a couple of home favourites. Here are Thursday’s top tennis betting tips.

French Open Predictions – Thursday 28th May 2026:

  • Arthur Rinderknech to win and both players to win a set (7/4)
  • Jannik Sinner -9.5 games (4/7)
  • Iva Jovic vs Emma Navarro – Both players to win a set (6/5)
  • Aryna Sabalenka -7.5 games (4/5)

The stage is set and with plenty still in the hunt for the coveted trophy and lucrative Roland Garros prize pot, we look at the biggest matches at the 2026 French Open on Thursday.

Arthur Rinderknech vs Matteo Berrettini

Relatively routine first-round wins have set up a second-round duel between Arthur Rinderknech and Matteo Berrettini on Thursday. It’s only the second meeting between the players after a duel at the 2023 US Open.

Despite an 80-place lead in the world rankings, Rinderknech is only narrowly favoured for this contest. Berrettini is a clay-court specialist with an abundance of experience. Rinderknech has an uninspiring 11-11 record in 2026.

This promises to be a hard-fought match. Rinderknech should get the job done, but it won’t be without a scare.

Jannik Sinner vs Juan Manuel Cerúndolo

Jannik Sinner dropped only six games in his only previous match against Juan Manuel Cerúndolo. That came on grass back in 2023 – Sinner has only improved since then.

Cerúndolo has become a better player. He’s not far off breaking into the top 50 in the world and won in Bordeaux on the Challenger Tour. Still, he’s yet to make much of an impression at a Grand Slam or Masters event.

This should be a very easy win for the unstoppable Sinner. He covered the 9.5 game handicap in his opening match and should do so again in this one.

Iva Jovic vs Emma Navarro

The ascendant Iva Jovic faces her compatriot Emma Navarro on Thursday. It’s the second matchup between the players this year after Navarro won a three-set duel in Strasbourg.

After a string of very poor results to start the year, Navarro kickstarted her campaign by going all the way in Strasbourg, including a victory over Victoria Mboko. Charleston was the last time Jovic made it to the last eight of any event.

This match feels like it’ll go the distance. Navarro’s confidence is the highest it’s been in a while, but Jovic isn’t a pushover.

Aryna Sabalenka vs Elsa Jacquemot

Prior to the start of the French Open, Elsa Jacquemot had lost six matches in a row. Thursday sees the Frenchwoman face the all-conquering Aryna Sabalenka on the red clay of Roland Garros.

Sabalenka was a finalist last year and barely broke sweat in her first-round win over Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro. This feels like a complete mismatch.

There’s nothing to suggest Jacquemot can live with Sabalenka. This is going to be over quickly.
