French Open Tips Today: Best Bets At Roland Garros On Wednesday
Who will prevail at Roland Garros on Wednesday? William Hill News tipster Sam Cox provides his best bets at the 2026 French Open.
The 2026 French Open is well and truly underway with high temperatures presenting an early-summer challenge at Roland Garros. Here are our top tennis betting tips for Wednesday’s matches.
French Open Predictions – Wednesday 27th May 2026:
- Novak Djokovic to win 3-0 (8/11)
- Alexander Zverev -4.5 games (4/5)
- Solana Sierra +3.5 games (4/5)
- Hailey Baptiste -4.5 games (6/5)
The stage is set and with plenty still in the hunt for the coveted trophy and lucrative Roland Garros prize pot, we look at the biggest matches at the 2026 French Open on Wednesday.
Valentin Royer vs Novak Djokovic
Valentin Royer’s straight-sets win in the first round was only his second win of the year. The 24-year-old had brought a 1-12 record into the French Open, which doesn’t suggest he can make life difficult for Novak Djokovic on Wednesday.
The Serbian has disappointed at his last two events and lost his first set in the first two rounds. Still, the bookies are making Djokovic a massive favourite here and it would be one of the all-time biggest upsets if he fell to a defeat.
Even though it would be a shock if Djokovic went all the way, he should easily make it to the fourth round.
Tomáš Macháč vs Alexander Zverev
Meeting for only the second time, Tomáš Macháč and Alexander Zverev haven’t matched up since the 2024 Olympics. Both players won their first-round matches in straight sets.
Aside from a win over Stefanos Tsitsipas in Rome, it’s been a difficult few weeks for Macháč. There have been a lot of defeats since he won in Adelaide, and his clay-court showings have left plenty to be desired.
Zverev hasn’t exactly been perfect on clay this year, but he’s consistently made deep tournament runs. He’s rightly favoured in this one.
Jasmine Paolini vs Solana Sierra
Solana Sierra has played some high-level tennis since the WTA Tour moved onto the clay. Sierra pushed Coco Gauff hard in Rome and reached the last eight in Parma.
Jasmine Paolini has been on the wrong side of a fair few upsets in recent weeks, including losses to Hailey Baptiste, Talia Gibson, and Jelena Ostapenko. An emphatic first-round win at Roland Garros will have helped to rebuild some confidence.
Sierra has shown she can at least keep this competitive, even if she does eventually fall to defeat against a more accomplished player.
Hailey Baptiste vs Wang Xiyu
Baptiste beat Wang Xiyu in their last meeting. That was, however, back in 2023. There’s little that can be read into that, instead we need to look at how the players have performed more recently, including Wang’s woes across the last couple of years.
This is only the second time Wang has even won a match at the French Open. Baptiste might have had a more arduous first-round outing, but she’s a player in form after a semi-final appearance in Madrid.
There’s a seismic gap between the two players based on what we’ve seen in 2026. Baptiste should get the job done without too much stress.
