Bradford City are on their way to Wembley : The story so far

Bradford City are the first fourth-tier team to reach the League Cup final for over fifty years. The English League 2 Bantams were priced at 750/1 to win the Capital One Cup at the start of an amazing cup run which has now seen them overcome three Premier League teams on the way.

With Swansea and Chelsea yet to play the second leg of their Semi Final, the West Yorkshire side are now 9/2 to lift the cup at Wembley on 24 February.

The cup run was dramatic to say the least. Late goals, extra time and penalties featured along the way. The shoot-out against Arsenal was the club's tenth that they've won in a row and some might say it's destiny that Phil Parkinson's team, currently ranked 78th in the league, will win a cup final for just the second time in their history, adding the 2013 League Cup to their FA Cup title of 1911.

If you had placed a £10 bet on Bradford to qualify for the next round at every stage of this run you'd be £200 in profit. The cumulative odds are over 3560/1.

Date Round Opponent To Qualify for next round To lift the Cup
11/08/12 1 Notts County (A) 9/4 750/1
It was scoreless at the end of 90 minutes play in Nottingam but James Hanson finds the net in extra time.
Notts County 0-0 Bradford City (0-1 AET)
28/08/12 2 Watford Town (A) 11/4 500/1
A Watford goal with 20 minutes gone might have seen Bradford out but Kyel Reid looked to have forced Extra Time when he equalised on the 84th minute. Garry Thompson got the Bantams through with a goal in the 4th minute of added time.
Watford 1-2 Bradford
25/09/12 3 Burton Albion (H) 1/2 300/1
Expecting an easy win over Burton, Bradford found themselves 2-0 down at half time but two goals in the last seven minutes took it to extra time in which defender Stephen Darby saw them through.
Bradford City 2-2 Burton (2-3 AET)
30/10/12 4 Wigan Athletic (A) 11/2 250/1

Bradford held Premier League Wigan and took it to penalties which they won 4-2.
Wigan 0-0 Bradford City (0-0 AET; Bradford win 4-2 on penalties)

11/12/12 Quarter Final Arsenal (H) 4/1 66/1
Garry Thompson struck early for the Bantams but Vermaelen's 88 minute equaliser sent it to extra time and then penalities for another Premier League scalp and their tenth consecutive penalty shoot-out win.
Bradford City 1-1 Arsenal  (1-1 AET; Bradford win 3-2 on penalties)
08/01/13 Semi Leg 1 Aston Villa (H) 5/1 25/1
A 1-0 half time lead was extended to two goals before a reply from Weimann. Carl McHugh restored a two goal lead to take into the second leg.
Bradford City 3-1 Aston Villa
22/01/13 Semi Leg 2 Aston Villa (A) 8/11 7/1
The Bantams 1st leg lead was cut to one with a first half Villa goal but restored to two by James Hanson meaning Villa's late second goal was not enough to stop Bradford City getting to Wembley and being made 9/2 to win the Capital One Cup.
Aston Villa 2-1 Bradford City (Bradford win 4-3 on aggregate)
