Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid

 

  • Both Madrid derbies in the Champions League have finished level after 90 minutes (1-1 in the 2013/14 CL final and 0-0 in the first leg of the quarterfinals this season).
  • Atletico de Madrid have not lost any of their last seven Madrid derbies in all competitions, their best ever such run (W4 D3).
  • Atletico have progressed in their last two two-legged KO rounds against Real Madrid in all competitions for the first time since May 1969. Should they make it to the semi-finals they would equal their best such run.
  • Los Blancos have lost only one of their last eight games against a Spanish team in European competitions (W4, D3).
  • Meanwhile, Atletico have lost only one of their last ten games against Spanish sides in Europe (W5 D4), but that defeat came precisely against Real Madrid in the 2014 final (1-4).
