City had a Good Friday and now a cracking Monday!
Mancini is now under intense scrutiny, the owners have spent a fortune on the squad and they will want to see a return on their investment. Mancini has been given some breathing space thanks to their FA Cup form but fourth place and a Champions League berth is the immediate target.
They will not attract world class players without Champions League football. Man City are away on Monday at Blackburn, the home win is 13/5, the draw is 23/10 and the away win is a massive 11/10, Man City may have struggled for form of late but Blackburn are in free-fall. Blackburn have fallen right down the table and they are now in the midst of a relegation battle.
There are rumours of a protest against the manager Kean before and after the City match and I cannot see them getting a result against the Manchester team. City have an abundance of talent and the player need to stay focussed on the league.
Blackburn have not won since January 23rd whilst City go into the game on the back of a victory against United. City have struggled to score goals and they will be without their star player Tevez. Blackburn have been woeful and I can see City putting a few goals past the Lancashire side.
Over 2.5 goals is priced at 21/20 and although City struggled against an improved Liverpool, they recently put five goals past a lowly Sunderland. City are quite a conservative side against the better clubs but they will attack Blackburn and over 4.5 goals is 13/2.
The player that can take central stage for City is Balotelli. He is even money to score anytime but there is more value in the William Hill Match Winner. It is 5/2 for City to win and Balotelli to score anytime and without Tevez he is the main man!
He needs to get the fans and management on-side, his off and on the field behaviour has been ill-disciplined and he needs to grow-up. The 5-0 City score line is 125/1 and Blackburn could struggle in-front of goal.
Santa-Cruz is ineligible to face his parent club and their leading scorer is Kalinic with five goals in the league. It is 10/11 for only one side to score and the in-form Joe Hart can keep Blackburn at bay. I think Blackburn will be relegated and they are 7/4 to make the Championship.
They have no fire-power and Santa Cruz's injuries have taken their toll. Man City are 5/1 to win both halves and they have a fantastic bench should Mancini need to make changes.
Man City can grab an early goal and I fancy them -1 goal in the first half handicaps market at 15/2. They will have too much quality for a Blackburn side that still rely heavily on an aged David Dunn. Dunn is 11/2 to find the net anytime and he regularly takes the set pieces.
Man City are too strong for Blackburn and the 11/10 appears a generous price.
