Could Pearson's Wood Be The Difference?

Leicester v Middlesbrough
19:45 - live on Sky Sports 1

Friday night's live Championship football offering sees in-form Leicester City looking to push their way into the automatic promotion zone at the expense of their visiting rivals Middlesbrough.

The Foxes have fired in twelve goals in their last three matches, winning all three in the process, and will be high on confidence going into this tie at the King Power stadium. Nigel Pearson's men can be backed at 7/10 to see off a Boro' team going through somewhat of a sticky time.

Middlesbrough are level on 47 points with tonight's hosts but back-to-back defeats has dented their automatic promotion bid. Tony Mowbray's team are 7/2 to win this evening but with seven defeats on the road already this season, they may come unstuck once again.

Anthony Knockaert is expected to be fit for the Foxes. Knockaert is not the only member of Pearson's squad to be struck down by illness and the Leicester manager will check on all his players before naming his squad to face his former club.

Elsewhere, striker Jamie Vardy is back in contention after recovering from the heel injury he suffered prior to Christmas but defenders Sean St. Ledger (hamstring) and Zak Whitbread (calf) remain unavailable for a while longer.

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray could welcome back a host of players for the trip.

Defenders Andrew Halliday (broken nose) and Jonathan Woodgate (calf) returned to training earlier this week and will be assessed ahead of kick-off. Striker Marvin Emnes is also available after a hamstring injury while midfielder Josh McEachran could feature after recovering from an ankle knock sustained against Watford.

The William Hill Headline offer for third placed City revolves around their striker Chris Wood. The New Zealand hitman, signed on New Year's Day, is in red-hot form, knocking in six goals already since his switch from West Brom. We have enhanced the price on Wood scoring in a home win from 5/4 to 2/1.

Fifth placed Middlesbrough will count Lukas Jutkiewicz as one of their value signings of recent seasons. The former Everton, Motherwell and Coventry man has eight goals to his name this season and he can be backed at 8/1 to score anytime in a Boro' win.
