Port Vale V Salisbury

  • On the two previous occasions Port Vale have been drawn against non-league sides in the Second Round, they have been eliminated (Chasetown in 2007 & Scarborough 2003).
  • Port Vale last reached the Third Round of the FA Cup in January 2011, but exited at the hands of Burnley (2-4).
  • Vale have kept three clean sheets in each of their last three home FA Cup matches, scoring five in the process.
  • Salisbury striker Dan Fitchett has netted seven times in his last five games in all competitions.

Bristol Rovers V Crawley

  • Bristol Rovers have lost each of their last three FA Cup ties against teams from a higher division, conceding 10 goals in that run.
  • The Red Devils have won seven of their last nine FA Cup matches.
  • The Pirates have conceded two or more goals in each of their last four FA Cup matches, conceding 10 in the process.

Carlisle V Brentford

  • Carlisle have faced opposition from the same division twice in recent seasons, losing on each occasion, both in the Second Round (Bournemouth & Charlton)
  • This is the first FA Cup meeting between the two sides since January 1908, when Carlisle progressed in the First Round replay (3-1).
  • The Bees have lost just once in their last five games against Carlisle, winning twice (D2).

Chesterfield V Southend

  • The Spireites have netted in each of their last seven FA Cup matches, registering 14 goals in the process.
  • Indeed, Chesterfield have conceded two or more goals in each of their last five Second Round matches (inc. replays), progressing just once.
  • Southend have scored in each of their last six meetings with Chesterfield, winning three (L3).

Fleetwood V Burton

  • Fleetwood have only reached the Third Round once in their history (January 2012), but exited at the hands of local rivals Blackpool (1-5).
  • The Brewers have picked up victories in each of their last two visits to Fleetwood, scoring seven in the process.
  • Burton have kept three clean sheets in their last four FA Cup matches (inc. replays).

Grimsby V Northampton

  • Grimsby Town have progressed in three of their last four FA Cup ties with teams from a higher division, knocking out Carlisle United, Port Vale and Scunthorpe.
  • The Cobblers have been eliminated in each of their last four FA Cup Second Round ties in which they've competed in.
  • Northampton have gone seven games unbeaten against the Mariners, winning three (D4).
  • There have been three red cards in the last two meetings between the two sides (2 for Grimsby).

Hartlepool V Coventry

  • After suffering elimination in three consecutive Second Round games, Hartlepool United have won both of their previous matches at this stage of the competition (Yeovil 14/12/10 & Fleetwood 29/11/08).
  • Last season, the Sky Blues won both league fixtures against Hartlepool, scoring six and conceding none.
  • Hartlepool have conceded 15 goals in their last five FA Cup fixtures, an average of three goals per game.

Kidderminster V Newport

  • Kidderminster Harriers have failed to beat any of the last nine teams that they have faced from higher divisions in the FA Cup.
  • Indeed, the last time they progressed against a side from a higher tier was in January 1994, when they secured a memorable 1-0 win against Preston (29/01/1994).
  • Since the turn of the century, Newport have scored in five of their last six FA Cup matches (inc. replays), progressing just once - this season v Braintree.

Leyton Orient V Walsall

  • The Saddlers progressed in the only previous FA Cup tie between these two teams, courtesy of a 2-0 win in the First Round replay in November 1969.
  • This fixture has seen three red cards in the last three meetings at Brisbane Road.
  • 18 goals have been scored in the last four FA Cup ties (inc. replays) featuring Leyton Orient, an average of 4.5 per game.
  • Craig Westcarr has scored three goals in four cup games this season (all cup competitions).

Macclesfield V Brackley Town

  • Macclesfield have lost just two of their last 10 matches in all competitions (W6 D2). However, those defeats have come in their last two games.
  • Brackley Town have reached the second round of the FA Cup for the first time.
  • All three of Brackley's away matches in cup competitions this season have ended as draws.
  • Macclesfield striker Connor Jennings has struck 16 goals in 16 appearances this season (all competitions).

MK Dons V Dover Athletic

  • MK Dons are aiming to reach the FA Cup third round for the third year in a row.
  • Dover have won four and lost just one of their last six away games (all competitions).
  • The Dons have lost three of their last five home games in all competitions (W2).
  • In 2011, Dover Athletic lost their only previous FA Cup clash with a team in the third tier of English football (Round Three 0-2 to Huddersfield).

Oldham V Mansfield

  • Oldham have progressed through five of their last six Round Two ties in the FA Cup.
  • Mansfield have lost six of their last seven in all competitions (W1).
  • Oldham have won each of their last four matches with Mansfield (all competitions); scoring 12 and conceding just two.
  • Ross Dyer has scored four goals in his last four appearances (all club and competitions); two in two for Mansfield.

Peterborough V Tranmere

  • This will be the third time in seven years that Peterborough and Tranmere have faced off in the Second Round of the FA Cup.
  • Peterborough have reached the Third Round on each of the last 11 occasions they've been involved in Round Two of the FA Cup.
  • Rovers have won three and lost just one of their last six on the road (all competitions).
  • The Posh have kept three clean sheets in their last four matches at London Road.

Plymouth V Welling

  • Plymouth have won just two of their last 13 clashes with non-league teams in the FA Cup (D7 L4).
  • Welling have scored just seven goals in 14 previous FA Cup matches against teams from the Football League.
  • Defeat to Burton on Saturday ended a run of six games unbeaten for Plymouth at home (W3 D3).
  • Welling have lost their last three matches in all competitions.

Rotherham V Rochdale

  • This is the third time Rotherham and Rochdale have been drawn together in the FA Cup. Dale were victorious in 1994/1995 in Round 1, while Rotherham needed a replay to progress from Round 2 in 1998/1999.
  • Rochdale have failed to score in their last Round 2 encounter with Rotherham, or the replay that followed, losing 4-0 at Millmoor.
  • The Millers' last Round 2 defeat at home came in 1980 against Barnsley - they've won five and drawn three of their ties since (including replays).
  • Rochdale have lost just one of their last five away games against Rotherham (W3 D1).

Stevenage V Stourbridge

  • Stevenage have lost just one of their last 12 FA Cup games against non-league opponents (W8 D3) and have won their last two Round 2 games vs non-league opposition without conceding.
  • This is only Stourbridge's second Round 2 appearance - their first came in the 2011/12 FA Cup against Stevenage, where they were defeated 3-0 at War Memorial Athletic Ground.
  • Robin Shroot scored a 90th minute goal the last time the sides met - his last goal in the competition.
  • The Glassboys have won just two of their last six games (D2 L2) but are unbeaten in their last three (W2 D1).

Wycombe V Preston

  • Wycombe have won just one of their last five Round 2 encounters in the FA Cup (L4), with this being their first Round 2 appearance since 2010/11.
  • PNE's last defeat in Round 2 came in 1996/97 against York City - they've won all four of their Round 2 ties since (needing replays twice).
  • The Chairboys have let in 12 goals in their previous six Round 2 FA Cup games, last keeping a clean sheet in 2001.
  • Preston have kept a clean sheet in each of their last four Round 2 games (including replays).

Tamworth V Bristol City

  • This is Tamworth's sixth appearance in Round 2 of the FA Cup. They have progressed on three occasions (L2), once at the expense of a team in the third tier (Hartlepool United in 2005).
  • This is Bristol City's first second round appearance since December 2006. They lost just one of their previous five at this stage, to Barnsley in a replay in 2004 (W4).
  • The Lambs have scored twice in each of their last four Round 2 games, failing to score just once (vs Gillingham in 1969).
  • The Robins' last defeat in the FA Cup to non-league opposition came in 1946 to Gillingham, progressing in each of their 24 games since.

Cambridge v Sheffield United

  • This will be the first time Cambridge United have reached the Second Round of the FA Cup since November 2009, where they were knocked out by York City (1-2).
  • Sheffield United have netted two or more goals in four of their last five FA Cup clashes, winning four (L1).
  • Indeed, the Blades have also conceded six goals over the course of their previous two away ties in the FA Cup.
  • Cambridge have scored in each of their last 11 Second Round matches (inc. replays), scoring just 13 in the process.

Wrexham v Oxford United


  • Wrexham have scored in all but one of their last 14 games in the FA Cup proper, but have only kept one clean sheet in their last eight.
  • Oxford have only lost one of their last 10 FA Cup games against sides from lower divisions (D3 L6).
  • The U's have won two of their last three FA Cup away games, though they have won just three of their last 15 on the road (D3 L9).
  • Oxford have won their last three meetings with Wrexham all by a score of 1-0, with all three games coming in the Conference Premier.
