Fulham don't miss the Zamora-factor
The last time that Man City failed to win a game at the Etihad Stadium was against Fulham last year. City may be on a run of twenty-one undefeated games at home in the league but they know that they have a massive chance of building a gap between themselves and Man United.
Chelsea entertain United on Sunday. The Blues may be struggling for form this season but Abramovich will still expect at least fourth spot. Stamford Bridge has never been an easy hunting ground for United.
Fulham are traditionally poor on their travels and they have now gone eight games without a win away in all competitions. They are likely to start upfront with Ruiz as a lone striker and Dempsey playing just behind him. The home win is 1/3, the draw is 7/2 and a Fulham win is 10/1.
However, Fulham have lost none of their last four away games against Man City (W2 D2 L0). City are out of form at the moment and they lost to an inconsistent Everton last time out. Their former player Craig Bellamy was immense against them in the Carling Cup for Liverpool and he proved that he should still be a City player.
If you fancy the upset, Fulham are 13/2 draw no bet but they can be backed to win or draw at the cracking price of 5/2. Martin Jol is an astute manager and he would be delighted with picking up a point on his travels.
The Cottagers are starting life without Zamora, Ruiz is a Costa Rican footballer that was signed from Twente. He was a prolific scorer in Holland but he has taken time to settle in West London. For a centre forward, he is a big price at 6/1 to score anytime.
Dempsey is the star man for Fulham, he scored his tenth league goal of the season against West Brom and he is a major force. He can be backed at 9/1 to open the scoring.
Fulham will be buoyed by the news that Balotelli is suspended for the match. City are also without the Tour brothers who are at the African Nations.
City have the tightest defence in the top flight, they have conceded only nineteen goals so far this season. You can back City to win to nil at Even money and that looks a good punt. City who started the season with an abundance of strikers are starting to look light in attack.
They will start with their only two fit out and out strikers Aguero (9/4, first scorer) and Dzeko (11/4, first scorer). Both players are class but they tend to drift in and out of matches. Their star player is Silva and he is sure to be on anyone's shortlist for one of the player of the season awards. He is back to full fitness and he can be backed to score anytime at even money.
In my eyes, he is good enough for either Real or Barcelona. He can turn the game at any moment and Fulham may struggle to contain him.
For the Match Winner, we have enhanced the price of both teams to score from even money to 11/10. Fulham have the Dempsey factor and they deserved a point at the Etihad stadium in a 1-1 draw last season. Neither side has kept a clean sheet in the last 15 Premier League matches between them.
